The author says he knows it isn't fully exclusive, just said he put it on there for the very alluring exclusive content. I don't exactly agree with it, but I guess I can see the point in putting it on the list if he's also putting an expansion pack, dlc and an xbla game on the 360 side. In my opinion though, both lists fail.

Agent and Last Guardian are just not coming this year. Not going to happen. I'm still going to halfway assume that we may indeed see GT5 this year though. Oh and Heavy Rain isn't coming either til early next year (which that and along with GOW3 is partly why I see GT5 coming this year). I'll definitely be picking up Arkham Asylum, UC2 and MAG this year though. They should've also put Demon's Souls and R&C in there instead of the next year games. As well as Fat Princess if they're going to include xbla/psn games. Also why isn't SC on 360's list? That is by far the most alluring game for me on that side of the fence.

Sorry G3TDOWN, but Heavy Rain isn't coming out 'til "early 2010" as per the developer's words at E3 this year. Neither is Agent coming out, I wouldn't think. If it was that close to being done they would've shown something at E3 instead of just the graphic of the name. GT5 I think may very well hit for the holiday, but even that is speculation. So the only one there you're guaranteed to get this year is UC2. Even still though I will agree, I'll still need to work and save up some money for this coming fall and holiday releases (including a couple multiplat games) cause there are still several more than the ones listed that I'll be buying when they release before year's end.

The Last Guardian, Agent and GT5 in 2009?!!!

Wasn't heavy rain delayed too?...

Anyway, the funny thing is, from the PS3 exclusive that were thought to be 2009 games, GOW3, Heavy Rain and GT5 wont be coming out in 2009, yet, the PS3 still ended up with a better collection of 2009 exclusives than the 360.

Where the he11 are demon's Soul and Ratchet and Clank, also a game I think that deserves to be on that list is Fat Princess, even though its only a downloadable game, it looks like it can be a full retail game(I would say Trine aswell but thats not exactly a exclusive now is it)

Maybe it's just me, but I have never seen the appeal of the R&C games, they just seem a bit shallow for my personal tastes, the graphics and art style are fantastic though.

I'm looking at the games coming out this year and I realize that there aren't too many games I'm excited about:

Uncharted 2 (I'm on the fence)
NGS2 (big NG fan!!!... but still a rehash)
Modern Warfare 2 (0hhh, yeah!)
Bayonetta (looks awesome)
Halo 3: ODST (I'm on the fence)
Splinter Cell (I'm intrigued)

Nothing too exciting this year, but next year is starting to look great (on top of my head):

GoW3
Alan Wake
Lost Planet 2
Mass Effect 2 (the first one had long ass dialogue, but I guess it is the type of game. Still liked it though!)

... just so far in the Spring!

I don't care what anyone says PS3 has just 3 systems sellers left. GT5, FF13 and GoW3. They have only released one system seller so far this generation MGS4, (GTA4 should have been) so I expect 2009/2010 to be really big years for Sony. I wish Uncharted 2 where a system seller but I fear it won't be even though it will win Game of the Year.

Bayonetta is looking better and better the more i see it. Anyone who gets a chance/happens to be browsing the PS store should REALLY checkout the newest 720p trailer of the game (under new releases). It's tuning out to look much better than most action games out.

For the ones saying GT5 won't be coming this year: that's not by any means definite. I mean I agree several of the ones on this list aren't coming this year (Heavy Rain, Agent, Last Guardian). However, GT5 is seeming kinda highly likely to release this holiday (guess we'll know soon enough). As for the one that said MAG isn't coming: as far as I've heard it has a Fall or Holiday 2009 release estimation and with the beta about to kick off, that doesn't seem too far fetched.

I agree about the system seller stuff. GTA4 should've been one, but we know how that turned out. MGS4 is pretty much the only system seller at this point (though I guess you could argue that SOCOM was a system seller and I'd bet LBP moved some consoles too--though I don't know the numbers). But undoubtedly, what Sony has left is: GT5, GOW3 and FFXIII(and FF vs). But here's the good thing about Sony, they're still definitely building more system sellers. I can see system sellers being built around LBP. And as you mentioned Uncharted, while part 2 probably won't be a system seller--though it could be cause 2 is getting ALOT more hype than the unoriginal so I could see people caving in and finally picking up a game when this game hits so they can see what the hype is about (though i guess that's unlikely), I can see future installments being system sellers especially for future Sony consoles though. They're first party is huge right now, and they're being supported greatly and pushing/helping each other like no other. There will definitely be new system sellers created. Killzone could even become a system seller if the keep up the franchise with the greatness and expertise that they did KZ2. That being said, GT5 and FF are going to be HUGE for selling systems.

Agreed Aclay, GT5 release definitely is NOT as impossible or unlikely as some would have you think. In fact, just as a guess, I'm going to say it IS coming this year. I'm thinking an early December release maybe? Idk. The latest I could see it coming is next spring, they're not going to want to wait too long to drop it, especially as you said they already told us they can drop it whenever. That being said, Jan/Feb suck and are slow months. And the spring is full with Heavy Rain and GOW3. Wouldn't think they would want to put arguably their two biggest franchises against each other. And wouldn't want to have GT5 come in and steal ALL the thunder from Heavy Rain after it being such a hyped (yet unknown) game. Just wouldn't make sense. So December sounds good.

However, reading back over your 'prediction', Aclay, one thing does stand out. Japan release date. And looking back I think all GT games have released at least a couple months earlier in Japan before they launched in US and EU(which alot of times has even come after the US version). So if it launches in EU and US in December of '09, would it really be feasible to expect GT5 in Japan in October '09? Or could they show a demo at TGS and make a big announcement revealing the release date as being a worlwide release (afterall psp version is actually hitting EU and US a week earlier than the JPN version)? But with TGS being only a week before GT PSP comes will they want to announce anything like that for GT5? Would it take away from GT PSP sales? Idk all just speculation here. The most logical seems a December simultaneous release (or at least within a week or two of each other) for GT5, announcing it some time at the end of October or beginning or November. I'm just rambling and speculating though

I completely agree with what you said there.

games like Heavy Rain, the Agent, The last Guardian definitely won't make the 2009 release, but GT5 and MAG possibly could. those three games should have been replaced with R&C, Demons Souls, and Ninja Gaiden 2 Sigma since those are guaranteed 2009 releases.

aside from that Q1 2010 looks like its getting pretty packed with games.

your gonna get a butt load of disagrees for that, but fanboys just cant see that by making that claim ur not taking away from any other console, its just something that has become a reality, PS3 titles have proved to be amongst the most innovative titles this gen, and also those that blend games with cinematic moments so well, theyre really beautiful titles. Again not taking away from the 360's great games like Halo, Gears and Forza. Or Wii with Mario Galaxy.

I'm thinking he means that exclusive games are generally of higher quality than multiplat games. That goes for 360 exclusives as well.

Come to think of it the only Multiplat games I have are Call of Duty and Assassins creed.

But still, I think MGS4, Killzone 2, and especially Drake's Fortune are in their own league when it comes to quality
