No MGS4 for GDC

Today on the 79th edition of the Kojima Productions Report, Ryan Payton reveals that there will be NO appearance from Metal Gear at the upcoming GDC.

I could have told you all this...

How many times as he said: YOU WON'T SEE MGS4 UNTIL IT'S RELEASED.

We won't be getting anything people. Nothing. THe very least, Sony might give a solid release date.

1.1 - I expected it to DrPirate
I remember sometime ago an article I read where Kojima Productions said that after that last trailer they were gonna be behind closed doors and nobody will see anything until release date. Me personally, I know they are putting those last minute touches on the game to make sure there are no bugs in it. I could be wrong, and they are actually just sitting back and waiting for the release date

1.2 - I didn't really expect to see much of it
I've already seen plenty with that 10 minute gameplay vid on the PS store. I still have it saved and watch it every now and then to get pumped up. Needless to say I have the a lot of confidence in this game.

What I really want to see is some RFOM 2 and some KZ2 and some FFXIII and some Resident Evil.

I know that generally GDC isn't a showcase of shoftware but, I can hope.

I'm actually happy about this...games are previewed too much these days and I want MGS4 to wow me. Showing new screens and trailers every week just spoils everything

they've already showed us damn near the whole game of MGS4, characters, plots, bosses, thank you for not appearing at GDC, and at least leaving SOME things to the imagination....

agreed. their presence isnt required. If they arent giving us a demo then forget it. Spend the last couple of months getting mgs and mgo to their max polish state. Once you announce your release date i will run off to go pre order. Remember mgs4 has had pre orders for over a yr. So ps3 owners better get to pre ordering if mgs4 got sold out and you didnt have a copy...well try not to cry too hard

Why would you want to have the entire game spoiled before you get the chance to play it yourself?

Me personally I'm not bothered by this. They've shown us enough but we need an official release date. No more rumors or speculation.

I like spoilers to some degree but so far, we've seen many huge boss, old and new characters. A bit too much for me.

A solid release date would indeed be the best update.

I'd rather see and hear some info about Killzone 2 personally. Three years in development and we have one gameplay demo and one REAL trailer. It's like the PS3 version of spore and the devs are being way too secretive.

No MGS4 for now is okay. I just with they'd give us a solid release date for me to circle on my calendar!

We have enough info on MGS4. What we need is White Knight Story, Killzone 2, and other ps3 exclusives that haven't been in enough spotlight yet.

to build up the hype, but if they want to sell a million on day 1, then they better set an "OFFICIAL" street date... and stick to it.

Just to clear this up, they don't have to sell one million copies on day one as revealed on the kojima productions report. Since it is a worldwide release they will get close to those sales though.

19 - Why would they be at GDC?
The game is well known to be close to being finished, we have extensive game play footage and a few story details to put the game in context, the only thing left to do would be to delve into the story and possibly ruin it for everyne.
I say its past the time to show and its time for Konami to polish and release (LOL, sounds nasty), but you know what I mean. Bring it on.
