New S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat trailer released
18
GSC Game World and new publisher bitComposer have posted a new trailer of the stand-alone sequel featuring some unseen environments and the Burer, one of the new monsters.
The Burer is a humanoid-type creature created as a result of secret service genetic experiments on criminals under a programme examining human telekinetic abilities development.
He is afraid of bright light and therefore dwells in only dark and gloomy underground and caves feeding on dead bodies.

1 - It feels like it's a true sequel.
Trailer was gorgeous. I hope GSC will redeem themselves with Call Of Pripyat after that shi***y Clear Sky.

Clear Sky was ok but was released with too many bugs. It took a few patches to sort them out but the game is playable and not so bad.
As stated in the main article, Call of Pripyat is supposed to be released in Russia on 2 October. I shall be monitoring the community forums to see what the reaction is like.

I wish they would release console version of these games. Not because I want to play the game on a console (BLASPHEMY!!) but because I want all these kiddos that claim either Killzone2/Halo series as the best FPS out there.
They play STALKER once and will realize what they thought of as "great" is really nothing more than mediocre and they just did not know any better.

I hope they release it on consoles at a later date. With optimization it could run at 30FPS with medium textures etc. I want to see what the deal is seeing as I don't have a gaming PC.

I couldn't get on with Clear Sky, they messed things up with that one. The concept was interesting, the execution was bad.
This looks much better, back to how Stalker should be, scary as hell.

Those are some awesome lighting effects. The first STALKER game scared the living sh1t out of me. This one looks 100x scarier :I

That looked pretty sweet. I hope Call of Pripyat turns out better than Clear Sky. Clear Sky was okay at the start, but the second half of the game wasn't all that great, especially the "end boss", if you want to call it that (he just tried hiding in a coner by some barrels on the ground, I just kept sniping him from afar with no retribution to myself, boo). I really liked the weapon upgrading, but faction wars could have been done better (it's just easier to stay with the Stalker Faction than try to fight Freedom or Duty. The bandits are push overs). Graphics were always pretty good though, and so was the art direction, I really liked that.
I'm really looking forward to this game. If it comes out the gate without a pile of bugs like the last two games, and fixes their faults, we could end up with a class A shooter this fall.
And please, no more bandages and bleeding out... So annoying.

On the net, I hear so much talk about this game. But only on the net, never anywhere else. It looked awesome, but the player had to use an entire clip and a half to kill that first troll-looking monster thing. That I don't like.

If you noticed that troll man thing had a force field or some sort of shield to protect it from the bullets for a short amount of time.

Revealing a new mutant with its own trailer means they actually acknowledge the fact that they have been creating very little new content enemy wise.
This is f-ing post apocalyptic russia. We came for the mutants. And stayed for the atmosphere. But were not coming back without more mutants. Or atleast I know IM not..

Shadow of Chernobyl was the best Survival/Horror/Fps/Rpg I've ever played.
Also, the only one.
But this looks like a worthy sequel.
I just hope the mod community will tag along as well, because it's almost on par with the Bethesda community.
