Street Fighter 4 for Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and…

JeuxVideo.Fr reports:

''According to a site reserved for Capcom to the press, Street Fighter IV should be available this winter for Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. Rather discreet until today, Street Fighter IV is mainly expected in the arcades, the Japanese publisher finally decides to lift the veil on the media its new fighting game.''

1 - Hm
If true, then those previous reports of the game making it onto the Wii have just been disproved.

I'm curious though what the System Specs are for this game are

1.1 - Let's be real...
if you only own a Wii then you never planned on playing games like this. And if you're a PS3Wii or Wii60 guy then you'd buy the game on your 360 or PS3 and not your Wii. Why should Capcom have to scale down SF4 for Wii?

Cross platform support would be nice, but very unlikely, plus one thing that I don't like about cross platform support is that people can make excuses like oh a certain controller is better (which may sometimes be true). Still though I'd like to play everyone universally, that would be nice. Fanboys could fight for the glory of the company that they love and compete for the number one spot.

Hardly a surprise, they were never going to stick exclusively with the Arcades.

PC is somewhat surprising, but that will be welcome news to my PC only buddies.

Cross platform support please! I have friends on all formats and they all need a lil pwnage in their lives :)

Akuma FTW!

Cross platform support would be great.

Finally the console war can be decided with action instead of words!

Yes, but it would take collaboration between them, which is unlikely.

2.4 - I could see some trophies and achievements for
cross platform beat downs. That would be nice. Even a universal world wide leader board.

3 - I HOPE
CAPCOM keeps the magic in SF4. SF2 was my fav beat them up used to spend so much money in arcades on it lol.

I really hope they keep SF to how it really was because lately CAPCOM been showing they are going downhill this gen.

The last SF2 I liked was SF2 Championship Edition. The first one where they introduced the bosses as playable, and Ryu and Ken first became different.

IT was all downhill from there in my own opinion. My buddy still has the Championship Edition set up in the back of his phone shop, we play there all the time.

i loved SF2 and thought the alpha series was phenomenal. The EX...not so much. Still, here's hoping the speed, gameplay, and clever combo mechanics make a fluid transition in this latest game.

5 - The odds of me buying this are
directly proportionate to the chances that Akuma is in this game.

I feel the exact same way as you. No Akuma=no sale for me. SF2 cast is good but i've grown to know and love the Street Fighter 3 cast more and since not one of them has been revealed as playable in SF4 (without being DLC) Akuma is the only one remaining that i use actively.

same here; no Akuma (Shin Akuma would be nice too, but lets no dream), no sale.

Akuma isn't in Street Fighter 4 in the arcades? Please tell me this isn't so! I am a huge street fighter fan. I even purchased and played the EX versions (shudders). I would still purchase the game but most likely would end up hating it without Akuma. He is my favorite character.

Unfortunately there have been absolutely no news, blurry cellphone footage or pictures of Akuma in Street Fighter 4 yet. With each day that passes i'm getting a wee bit more worried that he won't be in Street Fighter 4.

That's pretty screwed up. I'm sure it would have sold well on the wii. I don't own a wii so this doesn't affect me though. I'm buying soul calibur over this though.

Well, seeing that Lindbergh was basically a PC, I am not that surprised it comes to PC as well. I hope it plays a lot like SF3, because that's the one I liked most.

8 - They could do cross platform support
BUT they need to have there own servers that we connect to and in-game names just for their service which they might charge. So 360s owners would be paying more than they already do just for sf4. Its like FFXI PC 360 and PS3 users all in 1 system.

I don't think that will be a case for the higher lv's of online play. Most people who are serious into Street Fighter will have purchased an Arcade stick.

For more casual players it shouldn't matter as they are less conserned about leaderboards and just interested in playing the game.

Lol bubbles to you. PS3's D-pad for the win, but I think that the XBOX will have its revenge if COD 5 would have cross platform support. The strange thing being I know that people play better than me with the XBOX controller than how I play with the PS3 controller, but I still like the PS3 controller much better for every game, I couldn't even play with the XBOX controller when I tried out Halo 3 and Call of Duty 4.

This winter? That's sooner than I expected.

I havn't heard anything yet on Gouki (Akuma) but I don't see why he wouldn't be in the game. This is supposed to be taking place after Street Fighter 2 but before Street Fighter 3 and Dictator (Bison/Vega) is still alive. So why not Gouki? If not then maybe a downloadable character if demand gets high enough.

Since this game is designed to draw in a new croud of fans, I don't see it being on the same level as Super Turbo or 3rd Strike. Still, it will be nice having the next installment of the series.

PS3 version for me. The controller is better suited for fighting games.
