Assassin’s Creed Is Constantly Overhyped, but There’s a Very Good Reason for It

With Assassins Creed Unity and Rogue quickly approaching, Garrett from Twinfinite thought it was as good a time as any to look back at his history with the series, and how he has gone from a megafan to a jaded fan to something in between. The series may be overhyped, but after thinking on it, he believes there is definitely good reason for it.

Nobody cares what the writer thinks.

So you think its over hyped but it makes sense? Whoop de doo!

Seriously this isn't journalism. What has happened to this industry where any bloke can write crap like this and think they are journalists?

Assassins creed has an audience, just like any other franchise, and that audience will buy the games. Hype or not, they are invested. Doesn't take a rocket scientist.

Can we get back to writing about games and the features they have to excite the fans and new comers, Instead of this click bait garbage?

While I do agree with you in terms that Assassins Creed has an established audience, don't you think you are being a little harsh there lashing out like that?

If we don't start to call them out, how will we ever put an end to this bad, click bait, wannabe journalist era?

I'm getting a bit jaded with these open world map clearance games. I played black flag and enjoyed it but started to get bored as there was just too much to do and the main game wasnt focused enough to keep my attention so never finished it.

Then I went against my intuition and bought watch dogs and was really disappointed in everything especially the hacking which was terrible. I felt like I had seen everything the game had to offer in the first three hours and that never got completed either.

It feels like a job clearing all the icons off the map in these games, it's too repetitive and for this reason I can't get too excited for assassins creed anymore.

It's not overhyped.Or else it wouldn't have such high sales after 4 consecutive games(CoD's a different case...). And AC Black Flag wasn't bad.It was amazing. So yeah,it's not overhyped. And AC Unity is getting the same huge step forward as AC2 did from AC1.Because it was in development for 4 years. The longest development cycle ever in an assassins creed game.Everyone liked AC2 because of the architecture, story and new stealth mechanics. This game will get that treatment. Also comeptetive multiplayer is gone.So it'll have more focus on single player CoD's a different case...

I Played Assassin’s Creed Unity Almost 10 Years Later. It’s (Kinda) Spectacular

Shaz from GL writes: "Assassin’s Creed Unity is looked at as one of the worst in Ubisoft’s iconic franchise. But playing it nearly 10 years later reveals it may just be the best"

Do the NPCs still randomly levitate every now and then? Even years later I noticed they hadn't patched that out

Honestly I loved the PS4 ACs. I'd love next gen ports of Black Flag, Unity and Syndicate

PoE: Deadfire, Unless you have a or PS5 or an SSD don't bother, loading times are insane. A minute and a half to go into a room to investigate a desk in an inn and then an additional 1 1/2 minutes to leave the room and then load to leave the inn???

And they never fixed it.
