R.B.I. Baseball 14' hits Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on June 24th

We knew MLB would eventually bring R.B.I Baseball 14 to the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, but now there's an official date. Today, the league announced that the classic title is coming to Microsoft and Sony's new consoles early next week, on June 24th. Now don't expect R.B.I Baseball 14 to match the looks of, say, MLB 14: The Show -- the fully remastered game is more about being easy for anybody to quickly pick up, while still maintaining a fun edge to it overall. Just as it is priced on Xbox 360 and PS3, R.B.I. Baseball 14 will also be $20 on Xbox One and PS4 when it arrives in a few days time.

Looks like a strikeout. Luckily Sony makes good baseball games.

Exactly. More like R.I.P. Baseball. Sony's got baseball covered.

I bet half of you clowns saying Sony has baseball covered haven't even played The Show.

The Show to me has been the best baseball series for a while now. Probably the best since when EA was still making baseball games on PS2. This game with short development window is more than likely to suck. I hope EA decides to take the mantle to create compelling baseball games again. If nothing else the show needs a competitor to keep them on their toes. Unfortunately, this yr version of rbi is unlikely to be that competitor

Uh EA sucks at making sports games, they're the same every year. Other baseball games never even competed with The Show. The Show is probably the best sports franchise right now along with the NBA 2K franchise.

nice. simple mechanics are refreshing when it comes to sports games. I miss the days of Extra Innings and Ken Griffey Jr. on the SNES. Also, MLB Power Pros was really fun on the Wii. Last baseball game I owned was All Star Baseball 2004 as I just flat out grew tired of sports games (last madden owned was 2002).

Wasn't this a xbox exclusive back in the day. Like original xbox days.

OC_MurphysLaw3597d ago

No, Microsoft never made anything 1st party for Xbox in the baseball realm. Its always been 3rd party on xbox for baseball.

Already have the show, no need for this. It's funny how 2K is great at basketball but not baseball, couldn't come close to the show.

R.B.I. Baseball 14 Review | Warp Zoned

Warp Zoned writes:

"Baseball video games were forever changed in 1988. A trio of genre-defining titles for the NES would be released by the time Kirk Gibson connected with his famous home run. While Gibson’s heroics are reexamined every October, most gamers have likely forgotten about Bases Loaded, Major League Baseball, and R.B.I. Baseball. But the developers at MLB Advanced Media didn’t forget. The league’s technology group drafted a partner, Behaviour Interactive, and recently released R.B.I. Baseball 14, a new take on the classic franchise."

R.B.I. Baseball 14 Returns

Carl Williams writes, "R.B.I. Baseball, the Tengen classic digital version of America’s favorite past time, has returned to gaming after a two decade plus hiatus. Hitting Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Android and iOS (no word on a Windows Phone or PC version) R.B.I. Baseball 14 is designed to be a fast playing game, not so much a number crunching simulation of the game."
