pretty depressing to see the two newest consoles the vita and Wii U have those numbers but at least the 3DS and PS3 are making up for those poor numbers hope both of them can turn around soon

chadboban3920d ago (Edited 3920d ago )

Hope so too man, there are so many people out there actually hoping for these consoles to fail. I'd love to see Vita and Wii U prove people wrong. On a positive note, I've heard that sales for Dragons Crown on the Vita were pretty solid considering it's a new IP and that there was also a PS3 version.

animegamingnerd3920d ago

i was on IGN yesterday and i saw someone wished nintendo would go bankrupt cause of the low specs of the Wii and Wii U and i was i like i wouldn't even wish that on EA or square enix the two companies that piss me off the most

ps3_pwns3920d ago

its because people are saving money for the ps4. no way am I gonna buy a wii u or vita right now when the ps4 is so close. don't want to blow my money load. but when ps4 hits its gonna be selling megaton.

Rhinoceros3920d ago

Gaming needs more competitors, not less.

sherimae24133920d ago

some people are liked that, never mind them they are just fanboys not gamers, who in the right mind who would said a company should go bankrupt?!

vita and wii u is struggling and it can be turnaround, all it needs is to sell in the long run, not to outsell other consoles or handhelds it is enough to make ninty or sony gain their profits ^_^

psp sales - wtf?

It should clear 80 million easily in the end...not bad for a dead failed console

GribbleGrunger3920d ago

It's currently 500,000 shy of 80 million, so you're are correct, sir.

longcat3920d ago

What makes it hilarious is the amount of hate for it coupled with the fact that it is considered a failure.

Sure the software sales were poor, but that had to do with homebrew and the fact that a hacked psp was sooo much better.

Donnieboi3920d ago

Psp isn't dead in Japan, where portables are king. Psp has a massive install base. Not so much in the West though.

TongkatAli3920d ago

It isn't dead in Europe either. America isn't the world, the PSP got its use from America. Thinking of buying one for emulators

Williamson3920d ago

Yeah I agree that the PSP is far from being a failed console, had so many good games with great graphics. I spent countless hours playing some great RPGs on the PSP.

ps3_pwns3920d ago

I don't wish Nintendo go banckrupt I just hope they learn a lesson and there fanboys learn a lesson to and start acting like games matter and not just the Mario ones.

awesomeabe19983920d ago

I am pretty damn sure your trolling. Why? Games do matter, and no not just Mario ones. If you think Nintendo "fanyboys" think that, why is almost everyone Wii U owner excited about this fall and next year? Do you even know what is coming out for Wii U that is not Mario?

blackmanone3920d ago (Edited 3920d ago )

Sigh. C'mon, ps3_owns.

"I don't hate Nintendo, I just don't like every fanboy that isn't me."

Looking Back At 2008, An Unbelievably Incredible Year Of Video Game Releases

Huzaifa from eXputer: "2008 was home to the likes of Call of Duty: World at War, Dead Space, GTA 4, Far Cry 2, Left 4 Dead, and many other hits, which is outright remarkable."

I don’t think anything can compare to 2023

lucasnooker17m ago

1998 - the best year in gaming! Metal gear solid, crash bandicoot 3, medievil, half life, ocarina of time, thief, tenchu, resident evil 2, Spyro, tomb raider 3, oddworld abes exodus, banjo kazooie.

It was a different breed of a gaming era. You’ll never understand what it was like back then. The aura of gaming, it was different!

KyRo7m ago(Edited 6m ago)

I second this. Gaming was a lot more varied and fun than it is today. I'm 35 so getting on compared to some here but I got to see all the changes from NES up to now but I've never felt so disappointed in any generation than I have this current gen. I was expecting more from this generation rather than prettier versions of games that came before it. Game mechanics have become so refined that alot of games feel the same and has done for a while now.

Maybe it's time to have a break for a while. I love gaming but I don't feel I get much fun in the traditional sense out of it anymore.

6 Fun Games Where You Actually Play As The Bad Guy

While the mainstream media always sees things turning in favor of the hero, here are 6 games that own being a bad guy.

Profchaos6h ago

Pretty much all of these games listed are based around a morality system you don't have to be bad and you don't have to be good.

It seems to have left out some real amazing games like red dead redemption 1/2,ass effect and true crime la/ny

Tacoboto5h ago

Armored Core VI?

Ok, I'm really missing something here. Just beat chapter 3 earlier this evening, unlocked A-rank Arena fights. I'm not seeing or sensing any branching paths or morality system and I've done every side mission and arena fight available to me up to that fight.

Is something big coming soon to branch the story?

banger885h ago

No mention of Grand Theft Auto? Saints Row (original trilogy), Manhunt? Also The Suffering (depending on the ending you get).

Infinite Space: The Story Of A Forgotten Space Opera And Sega's Negligence

Space opera fans deserve a chance to experience the vastness of Infinite Space, and Sega needs to make up for its mistake.

ZeekQuattro13h ago

I still go back to Infinite Space from time to time. Probably the most underrated game I ever played.

CDbiggen10h ago

Felt like I was the only person who bought and played this lol
