GameZebo: As if we weren’t already worried enough about sea pirates every time we go on a cruise, or Internet pirates whenever we post that sure-to-be hit video on the web, it seems that now space isn’t even safe from a pirate’s dastardly influence. Sela the Space Pirate is a frantic top-down space shooter with a serious steampunk attitude, and has you shooting and looting everything on this side of the stars.
Pocket Gamer: Sela The Space Pirate is a game that wants to be many things. It wants to be funny and likeable, it wants to be a twitchy arcade bullet-hell shooter, and it wants to be easy enough that anyone with a finger can pick it up and play.
Some of these desires, as you might imagine, it accomplishes better than others. But while there are problems and poor design choices, all in all the game just about achieves what it sets out to achieve.

Published by The Game Atelier, who’s well known for their vibrant titles Flying Hamster and SunFlowers, it showed that the team was taking up the publishing reigns to bring smaller indie developers’ titles to the gaming market for us to enjoy.
