The Dead Space series have evolved with each subsequent title. As the character Isaac Clarke evolved, so did the game.

Yeah, Dead Space 3 was kind of a disappointment. It wasn't a bad game, but it didn't feel like a Dead Space game.

While Dead Space 2 may have amped-up the action, the horror was still very much there. It felt like a true and good sequel. Dead Space 3 has sacrificed horror for action, possibly to appeal to a wider range gamers, but in doing so have lost touch with what made them so great to begin with. I just hope it doesn't follow the Resident Evil path.

This game is still scary. Anyone who pretends to not be rattled and freaked out must be playing the game on Mute or on Lithium.

Enemies jump out at you in droves and when you least expect it. They make horrifying sounds of death and they look morbidly disgusting.

I guess it's not cool to admit that you're afraid.

The game is great and a must play.

Dead Space's horror wasn't just using those traditional type scares. DS3 have all of that but the horror in the original was different. All the hallucinations and claustrophobic-inducing environments put it on another level. Horror is not just having enemies jump you.

Great point. I just think ppl are being too nit picky about it. You play the game, you get scared by the game, you enjoy the game.

I found DS3 to be a lot more fun than the previous 2, even if it did lack some of those other elements you referred to.

I enjoyed it too. Those that love action games will love it. I especially enjoyed tinkering with different combinations to make new weapons. That was fun but those that want to see elements of Dead Space 1 will probably get disappointed. Good game overall anyway.

But I thought they could have kept all the elements that made DS1 great and still made it action packed. Sadly they didn't do that.

Why Dead Space 3 Will Be the Hardest to Remake

If EA and Motive Studio plan on remaking all the main Dead Space entries, they have to change a lot of what made Dead Space 3 so divisive.

Simple, do not bother with a Dead Space 3 remake. Rather have a new entry for Dead Space.

Yeah I agree. Make a dead space 3, but have an original story/setting. They’ve proven they can do the game justice, and I think they could evolve 2 in a good direction, keeping a similar tone. I’d love s Dead Space 2 and 3 though. The remake was fantastic. Top tier remake, up there with RE2.

Remaking 3 would need to be a reworked and somewhat changed remake as 3 was flawed in most peoples eyes and the worst entry.

It's the worst in the series.

Dead Space 3, A Ten Year Reunion

WTMG's Kyle Nicol:

"Was Dead Space 3 really that bad?

Well, it’s a complicated question. Dead Space 3 is undeniably the weakest of the trilogy. It’s a game that deviates so far from the original formula, that it throws a lot of what made Dead Space special in the first place out of the window. Although, where it does make up for it is one of the best cooperative shooters on the market, even after all this time. Do I recommend playing this game ten years later? Hell yes. But make sure your expectations are in the right place. It has a lot of problems that bring it down."

They need to seriously continue this ip with a new entry. Even if it's just another movie I don't care I love everything about this game.
