Today we got word that confirmed what most already knew, with Halo 4 now dropping out of rotation as an eSport in MLG’s Winter season, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 would likely be in.
GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 leap up due to summer sales
Wow, good games never get old I guess.
CoD will always be a beast of a franchise, and how awesome is it that you can just boot it up or pop it into your Xbox and play, MS BC is really a neat feature.
Many players on social media are now reporting unannounced matchmaking fixes have been put in place by Activision ranging from Call of Duty 3 to Modern Warfare 2 to Black Ops 2, on Xbox 360. Players are reporting that player counts are updating, lobbies forming, and matchmaking times have been reduced. Neither Activision nor Microsoft have commented on the matter when reached out to at this time. This is currently impacting both 360 and BC versions of the games. PS3 is not affected at this time.

Multiple users coming forward saying the games are finally working again after years of server issues. Note that not all issues such as player counts are totally fixed at this time however matchmaking is fully working again. With legacy Call of Duty games releasing on Game Pass within the next 2 years, it does make sense for these servers to eventually be corrected. Good to see the preservation of these legendary games. Hopefully PS3 receives the same treatment for these legacy titles!

Imagine that.
Conspiracy theory: MS have been planning on purchasing ABK for a long time. They let Sony outbid them for having console-exclusive CoD stuff/being first for certain dlc so the PlayStation player base would increase.
Years later, MS buy ABK, with plans to make CoD either exclusive/platform exclusive features etc with the release of a new console (Xbox Series X2?) So the established CoD player base migrates over to their platform, taking a huge percentage off Sony?
Wild theory
In Halo 4, 5, and Infinite, Master Chief became a more nuanced, human character.
In spite of the Halo series’ struggles, 343 deserves praise for adding nuance and characterisation to the ever-beating heart of Halo - The Master Chief. Playing through Infinite, it's abundantly clear that the events of the current and previous trilogies have irrevocably changed the iconic hero. He’s no longer the ‘blank slate’ that was previously presented by Bungie. He’s a fatigued, damaged and fallible protagonist, and one who is meandering through currents of grief, while reveling in his newfound agency. Giving the Chief a compelling and meaningful voice was no small feat, and 343 should be proud of that victory.
This article completely misses part of the appeal of the original iteration of character in the original game trilogy. It was the Chief and Cortana vs an entire alien collective. The blank slate Bungie displayed in their games was genius, he was an mysterious hero a wide audience could identify with because he wasn't as clearly defined as most characters.
The books added a lot of lore and backstory but most Halo players just want a fun game with exposition that doesn't get in the way of gameplay, it's why the Cortana level in Halo 3 was derided.
Not every character has to be a damaged soyboy, a soldier has to suck it up and do his duty.
The 343i Master Chief has is based on the books. However, in Halo 4-Infinite, the Master Chief overtime become. gradually becomes more willing to show some emotion.
Both these games suck multiplayer-wise anyway.
Never played any Halo game but "call of doody" turned into one big pile of steaming shit
That's cause Halo can't be in both gaming networks. Cause of the contracts.
Shame , wonder what the halo pros are gunna do if theres no halo on the pro circuit some of them will probs get a team together for cod , cods a skilled game but it takes more skill to play halo anywho lets see what happens.
I primarily game on my PS3, but I have a 360 and having played a helluva lot of Halo 4 online(current SR rank is 101) I can tell you that Halo is FAR more skill based than COD. It's not even close to Halo. I challenge anyone who is good at COD to try Halo online. You WILL get your ass kicked plain and simple. As far as multiplayer on CONSOLES there isn't a better supported game than Halo. People act like Halo is hacked wide open or something; it's not.In fact my whole time online I have yet to play with a cheater or hacker. I like my PS3 better for exclusives and my 360 better for multiplayer. People need to quit being fanboys and just except the obvious, Halo's multiplayer is better than COD's and better than any multiplayer on PS3.
