While the campaign mode and many of the challenges are cooperative, The Behemoth actually prefers the term "co-optional", as screwing with your friends is just as important to the game as working with them. Interesting story. I haven't heard about newgrounds in years. The site was great and I hope the people that still frequent the site choose to support it. If not, you should give it a Viking funeral.
