GB : Dan Houser one of the leading people behind Rockstar Games was slightly vocal about 3D and its implementation in games. He questions whether 3D is beneficial for games when it comes to gameplay aspect, because we all know it adds depth to the graphics.
Ahmed from eXputer writes "Video game leaks have become a major cause of concern for Triple-A studios, as they're becoming increasingly malicious and dangerous."
Max Payne PS5 remakes are coming for the first two games from Remedy Entertainment, and we hope this Rockstar Games easter egg is kept in.
Will never forget these games on the PS2 and Xbox. Max Payne 3 was awesome, more so the arcade mode.
Can’t wait to replay these games with updated graphics.
Would also like a remastered Max Payne3.
Former Rockstar Games technical director Obbe Vermeij has shed light on the developer's long lost spy thriller Agent, which was announced as a PlayStation 3 exclusive in 2009 but has since disappeared.
I know it's just one person's words, but love to see a game someone paid you to develop being called a 'distraction'.
He calls it a distraction but I always assumed they were the ones who went to Sony and made the deal because they wanted L.A Noire to be multiplatform and moved Sony's deal with L.A Noire to something else.
Kind of their way of going "would you rather have a game developed by a studio outside Rockstar or a game made from us directly".
His blog is really fascinating an actual peak behind the curtain of Rockstar back in the day these guys are probably the most secretive development studio in existence
We all knew it was scrapped but the idea alone blew my mind. I had full confidence Rockstar could make Agent a great game.
Rockstar leadership...the egos...must have been a huge challenge. Having worked in the games industry, I have to say it is exhausting constantly having to prove your point/position. Everyone on the team has a strong (I know best) opinion, and if are in leadership and don't abide them...look out. Now imagine managing the egos/dictates of the Houser bros!
thank you! I've been saying this exact same thing! 3D in no way enhances game play. Not even for seeing how far away something is. I don't think anyone has ever complained about a game failing because they couldn't tell how far in the distance things were.
3D is a gimmick and nothing more. It's nice to have it optional for users who want it, but the fact is, it's not the next big step in gaming at all. It's the same as motion controls. a gimmick that will fade away in due time.
3D highly enhances the gaming experience.... if done right, you know... effort put into it. If it enhances the experience does it not contribute to the enjoy ability of the game and gameplay? I'm pretty sure that it indirectly enhances the gameplay by enhancing the overall experience.. if done right. I play games with much more surround awareness in 3D then in 2D.
On console, 3D's biggest problem is the loss of quality. However, whilst 3D does not add to the gameplay, as already said, the depth adds to the overall experience rather than being intrusive on the gameplay which is many ways is a good thing. I guess Houser believes bullet-time which does impact the gameplay is more relevant.
He's right about most games, but Super Mario 3D Land would like to have word. 3D is used in the most creative ways ever in that game, and it absolutely enhances the experience and the gameplay.
God just forget about it. Whether or not the game supports 3D has no impact on the scores it's going to receive or the general approval of the public. Most people don't really care about 3D when it comes to gaming.
Just work on the game and get it out.
