Will Activision Cancel Shipments of Skylanders Trap Team for Wii U?

From GamesReviews:

"The Wii U is struggling sales wise, and despite a resurgence with the latest Mario Kart release and the upcoming Super Smash Bros U release, the reality is still the same: the Wii U console sales have been slow, and at times, stagnant. Third party developers are shying away from making games for the Wii U because the cost of development and packaging will net them little-to-no return, and even the potential of a loss. Activision, the company behind the incredibly popular Skylanders series, seems to have a solution; unfortunately, it is a solution that only really works with their game."

That would be stupid, Skylanders is one of the few third party titles that actually DOES sell on the Wii U.

THIS IS PURE FLAME BAIT - SKYLANDERS SELLS THE MOST on Nintendo systems. Last Year's Skylanders sold more on Wii U than Xbox One and PS4.

The Wii U has been outselling the Xbox One recently. How are sales slow? Things have picked up in 2014 especially with the release of Mario Kart 8

Where is this idiots numbers to back up his claims? He doesn't use the NPD, Media Create, or anything.

Flaimbait, seriously, to this idiot writer, learn to back up your articles with RECENT sales data. Otherwise STFU.

"Skylanders sells the most on Nintendo Systems" - Skylanders sells best on the Wii.

"Wii U has been outselling the Xbox One recently." - True! Hence why I cited a sales resurgence since Mario Kart. But compared to what was expected, and even after revising expectations, things are still slow.

"Last year Skylanders sold more copies on Wii U than Xbox One." - couldn't find data to back this up, but I will take your word for it. Wii U had a one month advantage in sales; the Xbox One didn't even launch until Nov. 22. Anyone buying an Xbox One over the first few months were not buying it so they could play Skylanders.

In the article, I take the bold approach and speculate (yes, I stated that as well) over why Nintendo and Activision would do this. Two things: cut costs, or to entice parents to consider buying a Wii U over the holidays, knowing that their Skylanders game will be playable on it. Although I choose the former as the more likely scenario, I'm believing more and more that it could be either one.

What do you think this promotion means?

- Things are still slow, yet you listed NO numbers...LOL, so things are still slow based on what? Where is your numbers?

- You speculate and bullshit for hits, its a flamebait post with little to no research done to ATTEMPT to prove your strawman point.

I think this PROMOTION means Nintendo and Activision are trying to get Wii owners to UPGRADE to Wii U, that's the only thing this can mean. Its pretty freaking obvious.

I got a site of my own, And I'm getting sick of troll bait writers like yourself bashing the Wii U with ZERO to no evidence. If you want to live debate this topic Let me know, Because I am a writer myself, and this is FLAMEBAIT

Is this article for real or flamebate?

Paul writes: "Ah Activision, purveyors of fine video games for the discerning consumer. Or, if you have a small child obsessed with Skylanders, purveyors of small shiny plastic figures that empty a parent’s wallet faster than a cocaine habit."
