The Last Guardian’s Creator Fumito Ueda Will Give News As Soon as Possible

The Last Guardian's Creator Fumito Ueda, who suddenly left Sony in 2011 but is reportedly still working on the game as a freelance, has been quite tight lipped both about the game and about his future projects, but apparently he's just waiting for the right time to give us an update, and that right time could be soon.

They keep it under wraps because the developer could never quite get their hands wrapped around the PS3 architecture and secondly, the thing has bee a cluster F since the begining. If or when it is released it willowy likely be a disaster. This fiasco could close this developer down

Sony have said that they'll be supporting the ps3 until like 2015 so there every chance this will be on ps3, maybe even both consoles.

A number of inaccuracies in your comment, as usual:

Cancelling this game would mean they have kept it on 'life support' and draining their finances for years whilst reaping no benefit. It's still in development for a reason, and they would've cancelled it years ago when they first admitted to complicated AI issues and PS3 development. By the same token, FFXV should've been cancelled years ago too, but we now have an incredible looking JRPG that we know is coming out in the next year or two.

The problems with The Last Guardian's development were officially identified in 2012, so if you think that completely re-factoring the PS3's Cell-specific code for an X86 console architecture and having it finished, polished and ready to release within a year, for PS4's release, you are more delusional than I suspected.

This game still has a guaranteed market for those who love ICO and Shadow of the Colossus. Those games didn't sell ridiculous amounts, and neither was TLG going to, but they are legacy games and have a legacy following. Sony are keeping development going because people like Yoshida believe in what the game is trying to achieve. As soon as a PS4 version is announced, just watch that interest skyrocket again.

I think this game is just so different that they have a hard time getting a decent amount of levels or gameplay to justify releasing it. From what we seen years ago it looked crazy ambitious. Good thing for them they are funded by Sony, otherwise this would have been canned long ago.

I can see ppl still supporting/waiting/hoping for this game to be released.

But its also understandable way some ppl have become VERY cynical of this game in the past few years.... with the constant "delays" and non-announcements it's unsurprisingly ppl will view/treat this as a "Duke Nukem Forever" title (taking nearly decade before it release after years of rumors and "updates").

With an install base of over 80 Million consoles, the smart money is that this should appear on PS3. Unfortunately, not all money is smart....still, it's encouraging that TLG is still in the pipeline.
