Three Lessons Kingdom Hearts 3′s Development Can Grasp From Grand Theft Auto V

Chris from PlayStation Euphoria writes: Grand Theft Auto and Kingdom Hearts are completely different in terms of gameplay, story, worlds, sound and characters but there are three lessons that the developers behind Kingdom Hearts 3 can grasp from Rockstar’s recent smash hit, Grand Theft Auto V. From showing the game as little as possible to having a world feeling alive, even a J-RPG such as Kingdom Hearts 3 can be given a few hints from the crime simulation, Grand Theft Auto V.

don't you think it would be troublesome to take out heartless with people walking around? besides i always asumed everyone stayed inside with the worlds disappearing and all.

chrispseuphoria3855d ago

No, not really. They would just run away from the scene like in Grand Theft Auto V. Sora could even save some people who are being taken by the heartless in a battle.

As a long time kingdom hearts fan, and a now 23 year old, I think they should also take a page from GTAV's book and make the game Teen. By teen I mean, cuts and bruises (Sora, Donald, and Goofy are always getting knocked around...why not make them bleed a little...it isn't out of the question as many disney movies have minor blood in them such as this), make the heartless squirt black liquid (doesn't have to stay on the ground but something like ratchet and clank did...where you kill it and it explodes into non red giblets), use a little more mature dialog (You can make it disney without using cutesy dialog, in fact a lot of disney movies are very serious when they want to be and I find it hard to take kingdom hearts serious anymore). Also I think showing casualties should be a thing too, the heartless steal your heart for God's sake...show it, it doesnt need to be graphic, just show the gravity of what you are trying to stop. I am not saying make it an M rated game as it would stray too far from what it is, but make it more mature for those people who even though they love kingdom hearts, can't stand the cuteness of it anymore. All of kingdom heart's true fans are in their 20s now and are moving on with their lives. I also think they wouldn't lose any business by doing so, in fact they may even get more people to play it because it is more mature. Take a look at inFAMOUS...it is teen rated and it has a more mature feel than most mature games.

I think Nomura said Sora would be more mature in Kingdom Hearts 3. Perhaps the game will be too (not mature rated but perhaps Teen)

Rynocirator3855d ago

that's all I ask is that it feels darker, and more mature...I feel kingdom hearts 2 was a step in the right direction, then all the games after reverted to the first one. Kingdom hearts 2 was a dark game if you ask me and if they could take it a bit more in that direction and make it teen, I would be happy.

More interested in money than giving fans what they want. Such a shame

CrimsonWing691d 13h ago

With the amount of money they generated, I just don’t understand the scrubbing of this. It would’ve been fantastic for fans.

I really want to know who drove the decision to focus on multiplayer was it Rockstar or take two.

Because when online started taking off many of the studio leads began having falling outs and leading including a founder

Ikr mfs that greedy it's ridiculous

This makes me sad. Trevor was one of my favourite characters in gaming

One of the reason I believe once gta 6 release, most of us thoroughly play it, enjoy the world they crafted then after that no offline support, no dlc at all
