Diehard GameFAN Hakuoki: Memories of the Shinsengumi Review

DHGF: Hakuoki: Memories of the Shinsengumi is essentially Demon of the Fleeting Blossom with a couple of extras, which isn’t a bad thing, as those who don’t own a PSP or Vita now get to play this game too. Although this is an otome game, there’s plenty of substance for those who aren’t as inclined towards romancing men. There are some wrinkles, like truncated encyclopedia entries, formatting and typographical issues, and the bug that’s causing the game to crash and the 3DS to restart. These don’t detract too much from the solid story and pretty art, and the game itself is still playable after a fashion. If you haven’t played this before, I’d recommend this version for the extras. If you have, I’d say it depends on how much you want those extras (both in-game and the Limited Edition goodies).

Which Otomate otome games can people enjoy in English?

There is a name people caught up in the otome game craze should know: Otomate. This is the branch of Idea Factory that devotes itself to making games for women. Lots of Otomate games have been released in English for people to enjoy! Depending on the system you own, you could have at least one title to try.

$6 is a steal for Deadly Premonition, even if it is a sub standard port of the 360 game. Pick it up, you'll be entertained one way or the other.

The PS3 version of Deadly Premonition:Director's Cut is an enhanced expanded port from the original 360 version. The original 360 version was roundly panned for it's terrible controls, graphics, dialog was called the worst game ever by some. Some found it fun like watching a really bad B-Movie. The PS3 version fixes it's many glitches and it runs and controls better with a DS3 and the newly included PS Move controls. At $6 it's certainly worth a buy and you'll get a some laughs from this and is the Definitive version.

Nintendo Download: 6th February (Europe)

It's Nintendo Download update time, Europe, and this week's Thursday offerings are perhaps more attractive for the discounts than the new downloads. We do have the arrival of a DSiWare / 3DS eShop series on the Wii U, along with some classic 8-bit sport and a new DSiWare game, but Rising Star Games perhaps offers the most temptation with a series of retail download discounts.

Doth mine eyes deceive? NES Open Tournament Golf? Can it be true? Clearly, Nintendo has looked at their failing sales numbers and decided to fight back by aggressively selling their greatest classic games through the virtual console service.

Blue skies are here again.
