Video Game Verdict: March 19 - March 25

Virtual Katz Writes: It’s that time again, time for the Video Game Verdict, previously known as Buy It, Rent It, Leave It. We are still sticking with the same format, but implementing more than just my opinion to the piece. Which in any case it is always good to have more opinions than less. So, nonetheless, we are back and we are stronger than ever with our Tribunal of opinions on whether you should spend your hard earned money on each weeks offerings. This week we have Gears of War Judgment, Dead or Alive 5 Plus, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate for both the 3DS and Wii U, and last but not least Need for Speed: Most Wanted on the Wii U. Gears of War: Judgment - 10 Years of Gears' Most Misunderstood Release

Gears of War: Judgment launched 10 years ago today, and quickly became one of the most misunderstood titles in the series.

Easily the best control-wise of the series. Judgment introduced melee-ing with the lancer and is still the only installment of the series (to date) which enables you to change weapons while roadie running simultaneously.

Gears 2&5 are the worst controlling in the series.

It killed the series for me tbh.

The Arcady aspects of the campaign should have been unlocked after completing a campaign play through. Seeing score screen after battles caused awkward pacing. The multiplayer was too different from other Gears games.

Judgment felt more like an expansion than an actually game. To me, I was fatigued from the series at that point. The story was ok, over all it wasn’t bad.
