Rayman Legends heading to PS3, 360

Rayman Legends has lost its Wii U exclusivity. Ubisoft has confirmed that the game will be also be released on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Exactly what is happening with me. When I played the demo on the Wii U I was SOLD. Was picking it up day 1. Now with this news.....not so sure Nintendo will get the sale from me. I can't buy all three next gen consoles but I wouldn't want to get a Wii U JUST for Bayonetta. They could of gotten a publisher to publisher B2 for other consoles aswell, Konami has been working with them and they've said they've enjoyed working with PG so I don't see why they didn't ask them to publish B2 for all consoles.

I think B2 will come to the PS4/720 in some shape or form.

It won't be done for a long time though if at all. The difference between rayman and bayonetta 2 are the publishers. Ubisoft is publishing rayman so they can kinda do what they want. Nintendo is publishing bayonetta two so PG is under whatever Nintendo says. Though their contract with Nintendo could be for a couple years i don't know. I don't care if bayonetta 2 comes to other consoles i honestly hate console exclusitivity. Except for brands done by Microsoft Sony or Nintendo. A la Halo, Mario, God of war.

Nintendo is publishing Bayonetta 2. It can only go multiplatform if the contract is written up in such a way that the rights dissappear after a certain time frame. You could see it released next gen on all consoles digitally possibly, but I doubt it. I'm pretty sure Nintendo has this one completely tied down. Rayman Legends was simply Ubisoft deciding to release it exclusively on Wii U, and then changing their minds.

Great for gamers bad for WiiU as this is WiiUs best game for the first half of 2013 easily. I played the demo on a WiiU and it blew me away for a 2D platformer it was amazing and it almost made me walk over to the counter and buy a WiiU but obviously releasing on a new console marred with under sales has forced Ubisofts hand on this game. But like I said great for gamers as now I can pick this up on my PS3 so no need to pick that WiiU up until it finally drops in price and hopefully just in time for Smash Bros or Mario Kart as thats all non Nintendo hardcores are waiting for really..

Bayonetta is actually contracted for the for the Wii U by Nintendo. They are actually funding and helping develop Bayonetta 2.

I would argue that after this news today, Platinum will def feel uneasy about this game only appearing on the Wii U. It's like they don't want it to do well. Origins released in November 2011, and everyone remembers the huge games that came out during that period, Uncharted 3, Skyrim, Zelda etc. that month was just insane. Origins got overshadowed really badly by being released at the same time as those games. Hope the same doesn't happen here though. I loved Origins and I'd love to see Legends succeed both in being a great game and in sales so that we can see more of him in the future.

On the other hand, February and March have a ton of big and semi-big releases across MS and Sony's systems. It's a pretty crowded line-up really. Bigger than the holiday season. After that they're running into the summer months where you don't see big releases, so they probably want to avoid that.

Sucks to wait till September though. This was one game that made me decide to get a Wii U at launch since it was a launch title, then it got delayed until Feb. Now got delayed until September and will be released on another system I prefer.:( Now I guess I'll have to wait till mid march to get a new Wii U game.:(

Nintendo never pays for exclusives, so this isn't too surprising. I believe Ubisoft really wanted to wait because they want the Wii U to build up its user base and they also wanted to take advantage of the 160 million Xbox 360/PS3 owners of the world.

I understand releasing it on PS3/360, What I do not understand it why take a nearly finished game and shelve it. Also if anyone has played the demo you would know that the gamepad makes it far better than a pro-controller. Not only that but Ubi-soft has stated that the 360/PS3 could not handle all of the graphics the game pushes out, and if they were to release it on other systems the graphics would have to be downgraded. This was just about 3 months ago. I am not going to look for the damn link right now because I am busy....But as Peter Griffin says "This Grinds My Gears!"

Well said! I'm fine with it getting a release on other platforms, I'm not a huge fan of exclusives... But delaying a completed game for 7 months pisses me right off.

You wont have to look hard on N4G to find posts of me saying purchasing this game was a no-brainer for me... Well guess what Ubisoft, that money will go elsewhere now just on principal. I don't have enough middle fingers to properly tell you how I feel about this decision.

I think so...by the way why in the HELL is this game the only demo playable at literally every Wii U demo station when it's not even coming out until September?!?!?! I know it was delayed but if Nintendo was trying to sell me wouldn't they want me to play Nintendo Land or Mario Bros or ZombiU? You know a game available that I could play with the Wii U I could buy now. The intelligence in that decision is frighteningly low.

Rayman Legends was supposed to be a key game in the WiiU's 'Launch Window', pretty big loss for Nintendo -- especially since Ubi delayed it to coincide with the PS3/360 releases in September.

At this rate, I've got a feeling ZombieU from Ubisoft will also be next to go multiplatform sometime this year as well. A core Zombie game like that would sell MILLIONS on PS3/360. ZombieU is the only game that's WiiU exclusive at the moment that I really care about playing, and I know I'd buy it if it went multiplat.

Honestly i do not see this game selling on any other platform. It would not be better on any other system unless they completely overhauled the game. We may be seeing an end to the Ubisoft / Nintendo relation, this will definitely cause some bad blood

Are you talking about ZombieU not selling on any other platform or Rayman? If Rayman, then yes I agree-- I don't think it will do big numbers on 360/PS3 because it's a colorful platformer. ZombieU on the other hand I think would sell pretty well if it came out on Xbox/Playstation.

Now I could care less about the title exclusiveness, what irks me is just a few weeks before its "confirmed" release day Ubisoft puts it on hold for 7 months to launch the title with the other release dates.Nintendo executives must be foaming at the mouth right now, one of their "launch window" games just got shelved for the most part. Nintendo must be hiring a few hit squads to take out a few Ubisoft executives. Now i have to wait till September to play this game :(

Ubisoft stabbed Nintendo in the back with this. It's one thing to make it multiplat (I have no problem with this, everyone should have the chance to play an amazing game) but to push back the release date on a finished game for no reason is beyond me. So much for the great partnership they hyped up. This game was supposed to be a shining light for the WiiU, now it's a fading glow. It's disgraceful if you ask me. Makes no sense

At any point this is not good news! This is a very EA thing that Ubisoft did here. Like EA releasing Mass Effect3 on the WiiU and the Trilogy on PS3&360 around the same time. The WiiU might go down as the most hated-on system of all time. I have never seen in my many generations years of gaming, a console endure so much 3 months after its release. I almost believe that Nintendo just needs to do a Nintendo Direct next week to address the hardware spec claims and just reveal everything so people can stop all of this guesswork. As well as talk about games, talk about games and more games. Because today was indeed a shocker for certain! Not the fact of the game coming out to other systems, but just in the cavalier way they went about doing it... Now imagine what this game would have sold on the WiiU and think of what it will do when it comes out! Sonic All Stars Racing is closing in on the million games sold Mark, so its not like a 3rd party game can't reach that status on a Nintendo platform, even this early on. But if Ubisoft thinks WiiU gamers are going to buy Rayman over Windwaker HD or the new Mario game, they are nuts. I'm not even sure what similar titles will be out on the PS3&360 during that timeframe. But I'm sure this game will get overshadowed in the run up to holiday 2013.

It's a good job Rayman has a cartoony style so they don't have to downscale the game too much so the PS3 and 360 can handle it.

I loved Rayman Origins and was so excited when Rayman Legends was leaked. I was bummed when it was confirmed to be Wii U exclusive, but I always knew it would go multiplatform. I can't wait to play Rayman Legends. I hope it supports cross-controller with the Vita.

For all the Wii U crybabies saying they're not buying it anymore, I'm sure once all the amazing reviews start pouring in you'll change your mind. The Wii U version will still probably be the best, but yeah, it was a total dick move for Ubisoft to delay the Wii U version 7 months when just weeks away from release.

i havent been on my wii u since the zombi u demo came out, was not impress by it at all. i was hoping rayman this month help me dust off my wii u.seems like its gonna have more dust than i thought.

Yup should of waited, is sad that people were expecting for nintendo to come out swinging with the wii u when it was clear from the outset the wii u was a current gen system after all it was the tablet controller that got the spotlight not the games and yet no tech spec info umm I am not buying a system that hides its info

This game went from a day 1 purchase to me waiting for it to hit the bargain bin (used). Come September I won't care about this game. What really sucks is that this game is the reason I bought a Wii U when I did. Gamestop had the demo for this game on their kiosk and told me about it being exclusive and coming out in Feb. If it wasn't for that I would have waited until after E3 to see if there would be a price drop.

Your loss rayman is a great game just because is no longer exclusive does not mean it sucks. Also the wii u is as powerful as current gen besides the game is going to play better with a gamepad than the tablet controller.

Well it was not a next gen title to begin with meaning it had slightly better visuals than rayman origins the only difference is the tablet. Anyhow it should not be difficult to implement the gamepad. After all when it comes to platformers the gamepad is king and the tablet oh wow a tablet controller how innovative lol

Actually this was the only game, maybe with SMBU that made me think for a second on getting a WiiU, I've no interest on Pikmin, Lego city and other games coming in the next few months for WiiU. I hope we get a Vita version, Rayman Origins looked incredible on the Vita, or at least we get some sort of remote play.

Overall it's a good news, Rayman Origins was absolutely incredible, I skipped on the game on big consoles but I tried it on the Vita and was amazed how good it was, best 2d platformer in decades, yeah I said it, so a WiiU only RL release would risk making a masterpiece to be played only by a few and be forgotten, now it will not.

September delay is a huge punch in the face to Nintendo, which is in dire need of good exclusives now, not in months. Up to this point the may release a 4K PS4/Xbox720 version by the end of the year.

I'm so disappointed about the delay, as I was so excited to play this game.

On the other hand, it's great that the game will be multi-platform. I don't need to decide which version to buy because I'll just buy both the PS3 and Wii-U versions. Then I can play the game with the GamePad features and also get myself another Platinum trohpy.

If it's as good as Origins, it will be well worth playing through more than once, as I did when I bought Origins on both PS3 and Vita so I could earn two Platinum trophies. :)

Hell, if they decide to port Legends to the Vita, I'd probably end up buying that version too.

I played the Rayman Legends demo on the Wii U a couple of days ago and it was spectacular. I'm pretty sure everyone saw this move coming eventually but I'll still be getting the Wii U version when it comes out.
