Johnny Hotshot is a good pickup if you’re in the mood for a light gun game on the 3DS, and as a bonus, it has a little side-scrolling shooting in there too.

Welcome back to IGN Nintendo's monthly round-up of all the hottest games to hit the 3DS eShop. This month was pretty eventful in terms of great eShop titles, so check out the guide below for an idea of which games you should buy, which you should consider, and which you should avoid at all costs.
Let’s get right to it, shall we?
Pocket Gamer: Inevitably, Johnny has been sucked into his favourite Wild West-themed arcade shooter and placed in the role of sheriff.
Can he capture all the nasty bandits and end the reign of Mr. Wang? Will his favorite game be just as entertaining in real life? Could this latest 3DS eShop release be a must-have for the handheld?
"I have no clue how the situation reads from a financial standpoint, but if their persistence is any indication, it appears as though UFO Interactive has had certain success with their eShop offerings. It's nice that they can be counted as one of the platform's repeat supporters, but I've noticed a recurring consequence of their recent focus. Frankly, with one or two exceptions, their games tend not to have lasting merit and play more like one-offs of debatable quality. With the arrival of Johnny Hotshot confirming their desire to develop more downloadable titles around this character, I wondered if this would be the one to change things up for the better. Mind you, being an arcade game by design, expectations should already be on the low side as far as long-term appeal.
