Charles Martinet is a quiet, silver-haired Californian actor who wouldn't look out of place on-stage with The Beach Boys. You might not recognise his smiling face, but you certainly know his work: Charles Martinet is the voice of Mario.
Super Mario Bros. Wonder is the first Mario 2D game in almost two decades without the New Super Mario art style, and it looks all the better for it
Am I missing something? It looks exactly the same, just higher resolution… Is this sarcasm?
This Mario game looks great, getting a switch for this and Mario RPG. CANT WAIT, TITS JACKED.
Yeah I liked how much more emotion could be conveyed through the new style at first glance I didn't see much difference but then rewatching the trailer I'm seeing more and more animations that remind me of the Mario artwork from the manual of smb3
I hated the new super Mario bros Style. This new one seems a lot more expressive and less generic. I hope it's a good game
I prefer the 2d Mario's. Me and my girl have played them all together and mario galaxy , Mario odyssey. The 2nd player option is extremely eh
It’s him, Nintendo has just been using the same voice lines and samples for the past ten years or so, and now a new direction for the series has opened up, Martinet has made a return to give the character new life. Maturity is all we’re hearing as the voice of an actor who likely hasn’t stepped into Mario’s shoes since 2013 is asked to do so again.
Anyone would sound different under these circumstances, and it doesn’t make the character any less. Just listen to Tom Kenny as Spongebob Squarepants in more recent iterations. The laugh just doesn’t sound quite the same anymore as his vocal range has fallen victim to the reality of growing older. Besides, Martinet recently played two roles in the Super Mario Bros. movie and was given deserved billing for his impact on popular culture, so to suddenly give him the boot for the next mainline game just wouldn’t make sense.
Would think him being a blink and miss cameo in the movie was celebs over all Illumination's idea, not Nintendo's.
