Game Informer - When EA Sports canceled NBA Elite 11 in 2010, I found the decision regrettable but looked forward to brighter days ahead. Now that NBA Live 13 has been cancelled, things are getting ugly.
Biting off more than it could chew, EA Canada's new control scheme for NBA Elite 11 was such a mess that EA Sports had little choice but to kill the project. Call me an optimist, but I was heartened that the company committed itself to producing a better product rather than foisting a bad game on a video game sports population that is already wary of year-in-year-out cash-ins.

They continue to make this but we can’t get games like Skate 4, Def Jam, or NBA Street smh.

No, don't stop. We need competition beetween sports franchises in gaming. Push on and don't stop or the 'winner' will become lazy
EA and competition in sports games don't belong in the same sentence. They've had healthy competition in many different sports genres and the ones they could, they monopolised the licenses to effectively kill the competition. Poor Konami in PES were feeding off of scraps with their CL license.. EA went and bought that too. With them, there is no such thing as healthy competition.

I don't know about that, Nba live was the basketball game to get until Nba live 07 came out.
If you look at Metacritic NBA2K games have constantly outdone NBA Live. And a lot forget how much of a jump the original NBA2K was as it was only on the Sega Dreamcast which many gamers ignored due to pure ignorance and lack of knowledge on just how great that console was.
The last good ones were Live 04 n 05 for ps2 era n Live 06 last gen

Would image that EA, if not Bioware, can get away with the "release now, patch later" mentality that's become standard with AAA gaming.
This is a release schedule for the fiscal year. Q4 means that it'll release between January and March 2019.
