Five PSOne games worth investing in for PS Vita owners

Soul Reaver hell yes. i remember the first time i saw that game there was a trailer for it on the gex 3 ps1 disc. actually i still got the ps1 version of soul reaver case and everything, just like when i first bought it. def needs another sequel this gen or next gen.

I bought Fear Effect 1 & 2 a few months ago for like 9 bucks on ebay and from what I have played of the first game it blew me away how good it was. Maybe after I beat Yakuza 4 I will go back to it because I have so many games I don't even know what to play and I like playing 1 at a time unless it is a fighting game or something.

Wasn't it Fear Effect that used the revolutionary idea of streaming video off the CD for background animations?

Fear Effect does stream the environments. It's basically a stream on constant repeat or loop, hence the 4 discs.

The same devs also did Fear Effect Retro Helix which is an excellent sequel. The did Fear Effect Inferno for the PS2 but the game was never released. I am uncertain as to how far the development progressed before being canned.

I have talked about Fear Effect on this board several times. It's at the top of my list for a remake...as long as it's a true to form remake and not some money grab where the name is similar but everything else is out the window.

I didn't actually play the full game but from what I remember of the demo it wasn't dissimilar in theme to Dead Space? Or am I getting it confused with something else?

Fear Effect is amazing but it's 4 discs. Is it possible to smooth the pixels a little bit on Vita while playing PSone classics ? and are they playable on full screen ?

Yeah, you got to put your brightness to full blast.

You can play it full screen by zooming in but you lose some of the screen and the graphics look a bit poo.
I suggest using the Normal screen because you can see everything and the graphics look much better.

There is a game called Heart of Darkness it had gorgeous graphics it never made it to PSN.

Just downloaded Parasite Eve 2 ( annoying that we don't get the first game in EU) but the graphics look great on the Vita screen you can tell it was a Squaresoft game with the running FMVs in the background while you play it kind of like Fear Effect.
I really hope they do a proper sequel one day on consoles, or the Vita would be nice and just forget the 3rd Birthday ever happened.

sadly enough i dont think a true sequel that will do the series justice will come at any time cause SE are "casualizing" all their games and we saw that with 3rd Birthday. Gorgeous graphics but too easy, no challenge no true overdrive system and pure action no RPG aspects no puzzles... I remember a friend of mine bought PE2 in Japanese cause we were soooo eager to put our hands on it and WE LOVED getting stuck cause we dont speak a work jap LOL..

That era is over now..... Nomura killed PE.

This is a nice list.
Final Fantasy IX is my favourite FF game ever.
It's aged really well and looks great on the Vita.
I really want sequels to Fear Effect and Soul Reaver.
