Gamersxtreme: Fans of DICE’s Mirror’s Edge have been enticed by details of a sequel in the making. Up until now, it’s seemed like a back-burner idea, but in recent months there have been some more promising developments.
I highly doubt it. It'd be a nice surprise though.
Maybe as a digital version only?
What?! Hell to the no! This is one of the Rumors I desperately want to come true. A sequel to Mirror's Edge would be nothing but awesome news.
Ah, I didn't mean no sequel just perhaps not a physical retail release. Like distributed via PSN and LIVE, and perhaps Origin and/or Steam?
I am expecting it. As well as Bad Company 3. I see Bad Company 3 coming Early 2013 and Respawn launching their game in Fall 2013. Mirror's Edge 2 launching somewhere in between or in 2014.
Mirrors Edge was epic.
I just hope they don't dumb it down because of all the whiners.
It's about time! Mirrors Edge is HIGHLY underrated. The game was an intense ride from start to finish.
"Mirrors Edge is HIGHLY underrated" Ummm...no, it's not. Most people who played it love it and it did well in both sales and reviews. That does not make an underrated game. Too often I see people saying that some popular game is underrated. On topic, I would love if this rumour were true but I imagine it won't be, who knows though.
How many people are talking about it all the time? After launch, hardly any. Underrated can mean several things, and mirrors edge meets a good majority of it. The fact that the people that DO play the game enjoy it, is the beginning of what makes a game under rated.
Soldierone I didn't realise that if people were not talking about a game all the time then it was underrated. Please explain to me these many ways in which it is underrated, because I can't for the life of me think of any. The game sold over 2 million copies and has 79% on metacritic. Add to that that most people who play it love it and I think you'll find that it isn't underrated.
I thought Mirrors Edge 2 was cancelled? Well if it isn't then that would be an awesome surprise at E3.
it wasn't cancelled, however the first time the game was pitched it was declined. It's not uncommon for a game to be declined on it's first pitch. Normally this just means they need to bulk out the product more. It's nothing more than an additional delay really.
It's development was put on hold towards the end of Battlefield 3's development. I'm pretty sure it's in full development now that BF3 launched.
this would be damned awesome if indeed true.
that would be sweet but I won't get my hopes up
I absolutely fell in love with the first one, I've been waiting for a sequel ever since.
I didnt like the first one, not everything unique is necessarily a good thing. but I see the potential for it. I think a sequel could be good.
i would love to play this game on my ps3 again! make part 2! it was sooo original!
PLEASE oh pretty please.
This would be a very welcome sight.
Didn`t get the first one, but a sequel would be very nice. If they add more differnet routes and more ways at solving the level than the demo i tried of the first game, i would definetly be interested. It dosn`t have to be pure sandbox, but more ways at getting around would be really cool.
The demo? come on man. Im also partly joking btw but the demo is not a good representation of this game iMHO
Well the demo, game reviews and a friend who picked it up did enough to convince me it wasn`t a buy for me. But yeah, i agree. A demo itself dosn`t allways give the right impression of a game. Even though it`s supposed to show of the best a game can offer. Games are expensive unfortunatly, so i can pick up everything. But glad to hear you enjoyed it. Maybe i can pick it up now, since it`s cheeper ;)
I own 5 games this gen that have never left my house. Mirror's Edge is one of them. Gimme moar
Oh I hope this turns out to be true. I loved Mirror's Edge so much.
For years all I've wanted is a Mirrors Edge 2.
Nah don't mess with the city, keep it white and sterile, I LOVED that about Mirrors Edge, add to that the ambient music and I can't wait to play Mirrors Edge 2.
Even though there were more moments of frustration than what I'd prefer, I have to admit that ME was a breath of fresh air for its time. I guess my craving for anything remotely challenging this gen, among other things about the game, is what eventually made it a favorite in my collection. If there were anyghing I'd like to see improved in a potential sequel, it would be an increase in the game's length. And for the love of God, please...PLEASE don't make it shooter-centric in an attempt to expand the fanbase. The absolute worse thing Dice/EA could ever do to this game.
http://www.comicbookmovie.c... new trailer for the amazing spiderman game, damn it looks impressive
I hope this is true. Mirrors's edge was one of the best games i played this gen. It had flaws, quiet a few actually but there's somthing about this game, cant put my finger on it but i loved every second of it.
I so hope it comes out My most played game of all time
Imagine Mirrors Edge 2 on the Unreal 4 engine...how awesome would it be to showcase the new engine with such an anticipated (thought to be canceled) title.
Oh I hope this happens! I loved Mirror's Edge...
I loved the environment and the parkour but I hated not having a gun at all times. Just seemed ridiculous to be shot at, take away their gun and then ultimately drop the gun. Nobody in their right mind would drop the gun after being shot at.
