Something To Be Proud Of: Halo Reach Alone On Legendary

From eGamer: This is what you get when you hunt for achievements. Masochism in its purist form. When I first got Halo Reach and saw that there was an achievement for completing Legendary difficulty alone, I just decided to go for it on my first run through. And boy did I suffer. If I had to give an accurate description of how it felt it would be this: Butt sex with a man who ate glass his entire life and now his anal passage is filled with razor sharp shards of glass. The more you push, the more your manhood gets torn to pieces. It was that bad.

I've beat Reach on Legendary with co-op, and have beat several of the levels alone. This guy is right it's sadistic but rewarding.

its the hardest game I've ever beat
a distant second was COD4 on Veteran (including the mile high club)
Reach is hell
but i had to beat it alone in legendary
it was haunting my dreams

I think comparing a shooter game's difficulty level to Demon's Souls is just... Off. In a shooter game, difficulty level is based on how much health you have, and how much damage you do. Oh, and how many grenades the enemy spams.

The difficulty of a game like Demon's Souls requires intellect precision, and some trial and error.

You shouldn't really compare them.

Btw, Demon's Souls isn't on Xbox... -_- Maybe you meant Dark Souls?..

First thing I did on Reach. There were moments when I seriously wanted to walk away forever, seriously worth the pain though.

I got lucky toward the end of Reach when there were two Hunters standing guard. I discovered a rocket launcher on the previous catwalk and held onto it just in case. When I saw the saw the Hunters, I fired one rocket thinking that I would take one out. I stood there waiting for them to come looking for me and when I peaked around the corner, I saw that my one rocket had taken both down. I still can't explain why they went down so easily on Legendary. Halo 3 was hard when you had to rescue Cortana inside the Flood ship on Legendary but that was all about pushing through as opposed to timing your shots in Reach.

played it on legendary my first run through....the end part with all those waves was tough....just when you think its over you have to go into that house with those red elites...would not do again lol

I don't see what's so rewarding. All it does is turn everything into a bullet sponge. Which is just dumb in my opinion. It doesn't make the game more 'challenging'. It makes it a slow paced gun behind a rock.

obviously you never tried it or else you would know that the AI is way more cleaver on legendary than easier modes.

Reach lol, try doing halo 1 on legendary. I don't mean to brag, but I've completed each Halo game on legendary solo, except Halo wars. I usually do my first run on heroic, and then go through a second time on legendary.
