I'm really disappointed in this it just seems like a load of DLC put together and an animated short film which people will probably watch for free on the internet.

This sounds like it has nothing on the Halo Reach Legendary Edition.

I wonder if Halo 4 will have a Legendary edition, there has to be more physical items they could add. In Reach we got a massive statue, a nice packaging and Doctor Halsey journal with bits and bobs from the game

I mean $99 for mostly DLC...

Gotta disagree Mike, this is actually pretty cool. 90 Minute Live Action movie, Season Pass included, Infinity Booklet.

Sounds like a good deal to me. How is it mostly DLC when you're getting the retail game as well? A 90 minute LIVE ACTION movie is equivalent to a lot of the stuff that shows in Theaters today. If it's well done, it could be magnificent.

That's gotta at least be worth the price of a movie ticket ($10). I see nothing wrong with what's being offered here.

A CE of a game is supposed to come with Physical items which justify the price tag, for being the same price as the Halo Reachs Legendary edition which had Doctor Halsey journal, bits and bobs like a badge patch, a key card, a dna cell graph, a massive statue, a cool packaging for the game AND a cool packaging for the whole CE....oh and it even had the retail game aswell.

I just don't see how this could even compare to this "Collector Edition"...I mean look at it

I just don't see how a ton of DLC/Season pass makes a good CE in your eyes. I don't even know why they give this CE a limited edition title when it's way too pricy to be one.

The live action movie will be something you'll watch once and then it will gather dust, just like Making of DVDs. It will be on Youtube in like a week after Halo 4 comes out and you've basicaly payed for something which others have gotten to see for free.

The only thing which makes this seem appealing is the Steelbook.

i remember the legendary edition being alot more than 100 dollars... the limited edition had the Halsey journal and black box... and the legendary edition day one with all that stuff was like 150 to 175 if i remember correctly.

I guess you never bought the Halo 2 Collector's Edition? You know, the Collector's Edition that started the video game Collector Edition craze.

The Halo 2 Collector's Edition didn't come with anything fancy other than a documentary DVD and an alternate manual from the Covenant's perspective.

I'm glad they didn't release a more pricey third SKU for the game, there eventually comes a point when you are simply milking your fans and those Legendary Editions are no longer special because it's expected with every new release.

Reach's legendary edition was $150, this is $100. It does come with a physical book of some sort that gives insight on the Infinity and stuff. I would have liked a Master Chief statue of some sort, but this is pretty great too.

I'm not that big of a fan of most limited editions. They're rarely ever worth buying, and this one seems like it may only be worth it if you would normally be buying all of the map packs to begin with.

Other than the map packs, possible metal case, and the live action short films (that will be free to watch on Waypoint and Youtube) the rest of it is mostly pretty unimportant, unless you want a couple meh in-game skins as well as items for your avatar that should have been free with any purchase to begin with.

So, basically;
$60 for the game
$45 for 3 map packs (9 maps)

That pretty much means you'll be saving yourself $5 in the long run (taking into account that you would be buying all 3 map packs). So, technically, it's not awful, but it is certainly nothing special. It should be more like $80 though, if you ask me. Would have been a nice deal for those that buy the game when it comes out. I don't even buy map packs for games (not since Halo 3), but for $80 I certainly would have pre-ordered this just for the deal alone.

Oohh... if that thing is a metal case, then I'm going to hate not having that, haha.
