CoD Elite members can cash in on Double XP now

El33tonline writes:

"If you’re a Call of Duty Elite subscriber on either Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 then you’re going to want to be playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 for as long as possible from now until next week.

Why’s that? Because Infinity Ward has kept the Double XP celebration going on the game’s Elite playlists!"

Do we have two people, with and without elite to give their perspectives on why it is of value and why another thinks it not or not worth it etc

Pretty sure non-Elite members will cry foul, while Elite members are happy to get what they can for their subscription.

I'm personally not a believer in Elite's system, where players are segregated until maps are released for 'regular' users, but Activision will no doubt forge ahead with the service.

What I want to know even more so dangert12 is why Activision doesn't take it on the chin for their Elite services but Capcom is for DLC (disc locked content)?

I mean the all these subscription, season passes, DLC whether disc locked or downloable, is leaving us gamers being nickle and dimed to death. If we don't purchase it we are left behind or at the very least it segregates friends in a party trying to play on PSN and XBL.

I miss the days of unlocking upgrades and additional items through gameplay and getting add ons to games for free. Expansions I can see coming at a price but not all these miniscule things. Especially when a lot of this DLC is created side by side with the games themselves. It frustrates me to no end when I see developers talking about their new games and plans for DLC several months before the game is even released.

The whole industry is out of control with trying to milk us for every penny they can get away with. I rarely purchase any DLC at all. Maybe 10 times this whole generation and I game on both consoles (360 and PS3) regularly.

All of these greedy devs and publishers need to be taken it on the chin from the media and especially the gamers.

Depends, me and my friends are less desperate so we will sit and wait for price drops till the game and DLC fits In a reasonable price bracket when brought together. Games like CoD we don't even touch and I was the only one who got I capcom game and that was third strike because it is worth its asking price

Yeah I know what you mean and agree.
I picked up SF x Tekken for $32 shipping included. If I buy the DLC it's still under retail. I rarely purchase titles at full MSRP any more. Patience pays off.
