That will make a lot of people happy..
Myself included. There is no need for any game to use GFWL. Will it force you to use the rockstar social club as well though? I hated that for GTA IV.
Ever play Red Dead Redemption or LA Noire? It's so much better then it was in GTA IV. It keeps track of everything, even maps to find collectibles. The cool thing is that they don't charge you!
I simply do not understand why you have a disagree. Not only will this make a lot of people happy but it's one of the few pieces of good news from the industry I've heard in a while. Props to Rockstar for doing this. It's a particularly important exclusion because the social club is fucking terrible as it is so putting something else on top would have been really game breaking. Although it is nice of them to make a DRM free version... oh no wait that's called a torrent. For a second there I thought I flashed into a logical universe where companies don't make it easier to steal their product than they do to buy it.
let see.. Pre order Max Payne 3 and get Max Payne 1 & 2 free, Dx11, free DLC plus no Crap For Windows Live. PC seems like the best version!
"no Crap For Windows Live" If only someone will send Rocksteady that message. Takes about 15 minutes of screwing around to get Batman AC fired up without long ass gfwl updates and who the f*** remembers their gfwl password????
This makes me happy!
Damned Rockstar for releasing this on the same day as Blizzard's Diablo 3... Brb. Need to go and rob a bank or something.
Actually, the PC version is slated for a June 1st release ;)
if ur in europe..
Unfortunately I was expecting some hook in there like "but instead it's on Origin!" which would have been really, really bad. Then I remembered it is going to be on Steam and be free of that type of crap. Looking forward to getting this one on the PC as well. :D
I'd much rather have it use Origin than GWFL in all honesty.
Yea, on second thought, so would I. But all in all, it being on Steam is best, no complaints coming from me on that one.
Great news. Now let's see if they lower their system requirements cuz 6 gigs RAM is rediculous for a console port. If it runs bad it's a no buy for me. I'm tired of poor ports.
Its not a port, Rockstar has confirmed that they are developing all three versions together
The Social Club has had a huge revamp and looks somewhat more useful now. It is actually reminiscent of Battlelog for BF3, yet without the server browser. But god i hate GFWL. I'd be utterly embarressed if I created it. It's so shit and broken. In F1 2011 me and my friend have to create a standard game, exit it, and then start our CO-OP championship for it to work. If we try and join our own co-op championship to start, it disconnects us.. I'm not even going to go into the whole GFWL / GTA4 fiasco.
That also means no GFWL for GTA5 too? AWESOME!! :D
One can assume that, yea. I sure as hell hope so. Rockstar is trying to keep their games in their hands (for the most part), let's hope it stays that way.
Its a shame their doing such a good job on supporting PC players, because Max payne just isnt my type of game.
