LAG Says - Black Ops 2 and Halo 4 are slated for release later this year, but it doesn't matter. Neither of those games are destined for true greatness because they are vapid and shamelessly derivative of their earlier installments.
"Neither of those games are destined for true greatness because they are vapid and shamelessly derivative of their earlier installments." Yeah, like you've time-traveled into the future and played both of them already...
Wanna bet ten bucks?
Both games suck the only reason I buy cod games is for the story thats it but in the end they both are gay especially halo
@Eio-Auditore lol wut? @TerroristV To be honest, I think my 6th grade class would've been estatic to stay on 2+2 for the rest of the year. Would've been awesome, we wouldn't have to learn, we would just screw around. Er, anyways, that doesn't matter. There is no doubt in my mind that Halo 4 and Black Ops 2 will be similar to their predecessors. The question is how similar they will be though, if they add enough to make the experience fresh, then it doesn't matter. I hope black ops 2 will actually change things up a bit, it actually has me interested in it, something a cod hasn't done since World at War. Halo has changed developers and I'm hoping for a nice change in both story and gameplay. I think there have been rumors it will be like cod online, which I hope is NOT true.
@ezio What's wrong with gay people??? Also halo is probably the biggest first party game this gen and MS won't let it go down badly. Hell they will wait 3-4 years for a halo on the NextBox and sales will go up just like with halo 3. I don't know why I'm replying since you play Cod for the story... Black ops had a good story for an FPS and BF3 even attempted to copy it but it's nothing special.
How can someone say Halo doesn't matter? or COD because if COD doesn't matter so much than why will it sell alot of copies? -.- and no i don't like COD that much but i'm just saying.
There is seriously nothing that brings these two games to the top compared to the other ones...
thank you. finally the one article about these games that gets it right
Cod I agree on but not with halo. Each one has brought something new to the series in each new game. They may not be groundbreaking but it's Atleast enough to warrant sequels. Honestly everyone enjoys games for different reasons so people need to stop dictating what people should play. I love halo, ha e since CE. Cod died for me once they started carbon copying. People keep looking past the new features in halo 4 and just keep saying oh just another halo game meanwhile Sony exclusives get a pass (god of war, ratchet and clank, etc) I love god of war and ratchet and clank but it seems as soon as a popular series has a new game it's instantly "gay" because there is another one coming out. Double standards on this site I tell you.
I'm only speaking for myself. And I only chose Halo 4 and Black Ops 2 because they're the biggest releases this year. I mean no ill will toward anyone. But I disagree that Halo has changed. I've played every Halo game except ODST and I find my many experiences to be identical. The story is adequate, but not alone engrossing enough to warrant a purchase from me. My interest has vanished. You do bring up a fair point in that Sony's exclusives are rarely criticized. Sure, that's probably true. I have never played God of War, nor do I particularly care to. But I did enjoy the one Ratchet and Clank game I played. If the sequels happen to be identical, then you may extrapolate my polemic against Black Ops 2 and Halo 4 to the R&C sequels as well. I think that sounds fair.
For me ODST is near the top in terms of campaigns for Halo. It is very atmospheric and you get sucked into the music. Turn off the lights and turn up the sound, the game is amazing, especially the night parts. Best music of the series.
The double standards that should bother you are the ones shown by "professional" reviewers, not random internet fans. One game brings nothing new to the table and it gets rave reviews with no mention of generic gameplay and story, while another game loses points for those same faults. I've disagreed with reviews more this generation than any other.
Halo is Xbox and Xbox is Halo. CoD could die today an no one would miss it thanks to the 5 clones, but the disappearance of Halo would be much more meaningful. It's like saying Mario doesn't matter...
No, the Mario comparison is disingenuous. I use CoD and Halo because they exemplify the repetition of experience I'm talking about. Mario is a bit more determined to provide unique experiences. Not that Mario is totally exempt, but simply that it tries a bit harder. I also disagree that Halo's disappearance would be apocalyptic. It wouldn't be. I never imagined another Halo game after the third -- which perfectly satisfied me -- and yet here we are.
well they do matter whether we want them to or not.
What a flamebait article, lol.
i will not be buy either. they are both cash cows now, especially CoD.
so is porn but dont see no one complaining and writing articles about that eh?? just a thought dont hurt yourself
can't wait to get into another master chief story, BLOPS 2 will have to be great for me to buy it.
Playing Video Games isn't like going to school. You go to school because you need to learn basic facts from different categories to help you succeed in life. You play Video Games to have fun, if I would have had the choice in school I would have only been in Math classes and avoid classes like Science and English while many gamers similarly avoid some genre's and favor others.
