Battlefield 3 – DICE Hasn’t Forgotten About Esports, More on Battlerecorder and Spectator Mode

MP1st - Some fans feel that DICE has been ignoring the competitive community as it’s been some time that Esport goers, and even casual gamers alike, have requested a spectator mode or Battlerecorder in order to monitor competitive matches. (Battlefield 3, PC, PS3, Xbox 360)

A year later.. lol
GamingPerson  +   375d ago
Remember this/was a pc game. so long term support might seem strange to some.. No BF4 next year.

"Matros explains that “that is why it is very important to stick with what you say.” He’d also like fans to know, “things we say are never with worst intentions. Some things get left behind in a long dev process and get re-evaluated. That is why information can be pretty scarce at times.”

lol sorry but somebody had to.

@konnerb

BF3 unlike COD has a two year lifespan so 7 months isn't bad at al. and it's been 7 months not a year.

Man everything exciting already happened. Can't re-do those.

How many wrong decisions can 1 developer make? No one cares about battlerecorder or spectator mode!!

I understand that you cant please everyone but why wont they just listen to the majority instead of the minority!

Idk what you're taking about. There is obvious demand for it if the question is always coming up. It's not like this was the first time the question was addressed.

I still want a final killcam like Max Payne 3 and Crysis 2
ExCest  +   375d ago
Final killcam is for the games that are oriented to the killing aspect of the game. Like COD, and apparently, Crysis and Max Payne. BF has been about the objective and not about the last kill but more of the result of a "team's" effort.
chobit_A5HL3Y  +   375d ago
i think it would be nice to have a killcam while the scores are being shown~
Pandamobile  +   375d ago
I like the TF2 style kill cam just fine. I don't need to see exactly how I was killed by an enemy. It gets a bit stale.
scrambles  +   375d ago
Killcams ruin any stealth aspect of a game with a thunderous crack! A guy is sneaking around trying to find go kill an enemy sniper or trying to get to an mcom but theres a guy in the way so he kills him. That guy now knows his exact position due to killcam and the directional hit markers. Now that BF3 has CoD skulls everyone player on the entire map knows exactly when and where that player dies.

Killcams and skulls are there for noobs who cant pay attention. Lord how casual BF has become. If it showed a screen of all the info about the guy who killed you like what did what % of damage that would be fine but just showing you where the guy is is bad.

Spectator Mode and Battlerecorder would be much loved additions, but really, I cannot wait until they balance the game completely. It usually takes them a long time, but Battlefield 2 and Bad Company 2 as my proof, they eventually work out to be completely balanced.
ExCest  +   375d ago
I don't know. It took a long time to make BC2 great but I think it was far from balanced. Throughout the game, I felt that there were guns that outshined the others.

SeekDev  +   375d ago
Technically, there has to be guns that are better than the others, otherwise there's no point to having multiple guns. It's just that some were more powerful than others while sacrificing accuracy, or other things like that.
chobit_A5HL3Y  +   375d ago
i can't wait for spectator mode or game recorder so i can see exactly what a "bad luck" death is. running and collapsing for no reason is no fun...
SeekDev  +   375d ago
Try flying up, up, and a *boom*... "The phuck."
BraveToaster  +   375d ago
Yeah, it only took DICE up until a month before BF3 came out to fix the hit detection in Bad Company 2.
sovietsoldier  +   375d ago
fuck me, more crap coming out of dices mouth! you will get everything you asked for just as soon as we squeeze every last dime out of this game!
CaptCalvin  +   375d ago
Is everyone forgetting multichannel voice chat? You know the one that worked perfectly fine in BF2?
BraveToaster  +   375d ago
"DICE Hasn't Forgotten About ESports"
I'm pretty sure they forgot about that when they programmed the hit detection and netcode.
leogets  +   375d ago
Moany fucking bunch of cunts.the game is great.if ya have personall problems with it dont fucking use it.stick on something else.shit aint that hard

I would like the ability to ROTATE THE DAMN CAMERA DURING DEATH/RESPAWN.

During death could be arguably unfair, but during respawn it sucks to be looking at a teammates front or back and having no idea if it's safe around him and no way to check.

Meh.
