WhatCulture writes: Gamers everywhere seem ready to break out the pitchforks and torches, as they drive anyone out of the gaming industry ready to take a stance against the used gaming market. Used games appeal to us with their shiny lowered price tags, seducing us into making that seemingly blasphemous used purchase. I think it is time to raise awareness about what happens when you purchase the used game. It is time to take this discussion to a level where we explore why the used gaming industry is a succubus seducing us into buying our games used, but most importantly why they aren’t encouraging new purchases. The used gaming market has created an illusion of positivity when at the end of the day all it does is hurt the industry more. Used gaming is not a single source of problems for our industry, but it is a serious contender and the time to change is now.
