Paying for games isn't the future. The only way to save videogames is to give them away

The next generation is going to be hard on everyone, it's time for the big three to embrace free-to-play. (Industry, PC, PS Vita, PS3, Wii U, Xbox 360)

Free to Play isnt necessarily FREE

How about they pay us to play them.

Would THAT make people happy?
Honest_gamer  +   381d ago
Eh no I’d rather pay the £60/£70 per game next gen plus the cost to pay online plus the cost for the "true" ending dlc plus the cost of my own internet connection PLUS the cost of repairs etc must be on the 9th xbox head set and my 5th controllers in the last two year who wants the developers to pay you to play their game honestly what were you thinking with that post, /s

hmmmm no thanks.

for starters, i cannot beleive how greedy gamers are getting. hundreds of people put hundreds of hours into creating these games and deserve to be paid properly.

second, while that model works for some games and some people, i prefer of have all of my content in my game right away ( or at least most, i wish dlc was never invented ). not find a piece of armor or a weapon and then have it say "for 80 ms points this can be yours". or for that matter just have it available from the start for purchase becuase it would take all the fun out of unlockables.

third, if this became the norm, consider how badly devs have taken advantage of dlc, you really dont think they would take advantage of this to the point where its worse????

and lastly, with a model such as this, you can pretty much kiss the chance of ever playing any of those games again 10 years after their release

it sucks the dlc is ALWAYS either just UNDER the points or just OVER the points so u have to buy the dearer points for a 100 points totaly sucks with it was jsut buy for 80 points then add 80 points into ur walet or just use real money and take 80p out of ur bank or something

The "Freemium" model has destroyed what fun I thought mobile phone gaming could have been. They give you a gimped version of the game before you pay for what you need to progress and they tell you it's hard to complain about free...although on mobile phones you are at least initially paying with your personal information which has value (always check those permissions you grant).
