New revelations revealing an Xbox Live-centric E3 showing by Microsoft are particularly disheartening.
They'll preview black ops 2 while they announce new DLC for MW3.
I expect another timed exclusive announcement, DLC for Black Ops 2.
I held out hope that Microsoft would have a few surprises last year as far as games go, but what did that awful president say a few years back.. fool me once...shame on... shame on you... -you fool me you can't get fooled again! ^_^
Where's the turn the turn of the Ads option? at least add that in for your Xbox Live Gold customers.
you'll see halo on ps3 before you see that. o_O
the only game theyll show i halo, cuz thats all theyve got
Sad but true. If I could get halo somewhere else I would. But I grew up with the series and can't let it go. Only time I use my 360 is for halo. Sadly.
All I have to say is, they better not have another Kinect filled show again. All I can really see them showing off right now(sorry I don't follow 360 news much) is Halo and Black Ops 2.
You will see games couple of exclusives and tons of multi
If Microsoft does this then every 360 owner should write them a letter of anger, like i said once before there is absolutely no excuse for Microsoft not to have at least as many exclusives as Sony. now I am a true die hard Microsoft fan but I am starting to get to point were I am about to say the hell whith them, Why the dash board updates are cool I didn't spend 400$ for a dashboard, I mean adding all these features makes the xbox more appealing do to other consumers true, But do not forget who made your console what it is and that is the people they seemed to forget, the gamer. But giving all the new studios and partnerships they have I find it hard to believe that there won't hardly be any games shown by them at e3, It just wouldn't make since.
out of the 3 pressers Microsoft has never excited me, and always makes me cringe at the horrible kinect crap, constant and endless multiplat game announcements made to seem like exclusives. plus the same normal exclusives announced always. so for this years E3 i'll record all again on G4 show both sony and nintendos in full, and just fast forward through mircosofts for some laughs and the usually no new IP announcements. i buy my consoles for the exclusives that define them but microsoft has yet to show me why i should invest in their new console.
This wouldn't surprise me at all. Microsoft starting to realize that a glorified Wii isn't going to get them the success they want so now they'll focus the majority of their efforts on other ways to entice the family. Think it's time to face the music my fellow gamers, to Microsoft we're nothing more than that unattractive ex gf strung along for closure while they seek greener pastures.
Microsoft got so much money they could be developing a bunch of AAA games. Instead they just get timed dlc and a bunch of kinect games made by some cellphone game developers and spend billions advertising. Last E3 the only AAA game they had was gears3 that I remember, but they already had shown everything about the game already (it was delayed) and had a big beta. (for people who bought Bulletstorm) I know they get multiplatform games but XBOX users are the only ones that have to pay to play. XBOX customers should demand more from Microsoft.
"according to Wedbush Morgan Securities analyst Michael Pachter." Stopped reading.
They'll show Halo 4, Forza Horizon some third party DLC announcement and a huge Kinect fest will ensue. Followed by service and feature announcements. That's enough for some, but I don't see how. That's impressing no one but casuals and die-hard fanboys. The only valid excuse I can see is that the "Nextbox" is around the corner, but somehow, I still don't believe that is the case. Microsoft simply need to have a better way of nurturing creativity from their first party studios, and keep the flow of core games constant. Besides Kinect games and their creaky staple franchises, they don't have much. It might be easy to say "I'm fine with Halo and multiplats", but until you experience the feeling of lots of potentially great games (not only sequels but new IPs too) being announced every week, of course you'll be just fine with that. In fact don't even think of them as exclusives, think of them as games that have the potential to be great and you wouldn't have so much of a problem. It would make any E3 more exciting. Games, Games, and Games >>>>>>> Kinect, Services and Games that everyone else can play... in 3 months time. Microsoft can do much more for games with the resources they have, they just choose not to.
Halo 4 and Forza lul If they were cool, they'd be using Rare to their advantage, making a new Banjo Kazooie platformer and a Perfect Dark sequel. As well as those, they could announce Crackdown 3, Gears of War spinoff, new IPs if that's even possible these days. For Xbox Live, maybe Geometry Wars 3, dlc exclusives, it would be interesting to see Halo 4 launch at the same time on live as it does in the real world. I don't know, I just want Banjo Kazooie 3 haha
You aren't going to see a ton in the way of games, Microsoft has already confirmed this. Microsoft is using a strategy of releasing core games and exclusives to draw in that crowd early in the life cycle of a console, which is when people are still deciding which console to purchase. Exclusives tend to matter most at the start of a console cycle. Now Microsoft is prepping the Xbox 360 to be a entertainment hub above everything else, they want to be the number one choice for people when it comes to entertainment. I think at this point that is more important to Microsoft than anything else. Its been such a great couple of years for multiplatform game that their strategy seems to be working really well. It sucks for some people, but as I said in another article like this, there are other alternatives to the Xbox 360 if your desperate for new games or if exclusives are that important to you. Microsoft is a business at the end of the day and everything is about making money. You don't think they see Sony crank out exclusive after exclusive, only to watch most go unnoticed and unbought? Where would there incentive be to do the same at this point in the Xbox 360's life cycle? They are focusing on entertainment and digital arcade releases, which are cheap to produce, and they have actually been pretty good lately.
This will be the 3rd yr in a row that MS has not given their fan base something to get excited about. We've all seen this arrogance from a hardware manufactures before. These companies seem to let their success go to their heads and tend to forget how they got there in the first place. It will eventually bite them in the ass. Xbox owners are heavily invested in their system with games, friends lists, and downloadable titles. It's too late in the game for these gamers to drop MS and look to other gaming platforms. This is why it seems that no matter how bad MS bumbles, the 360 is still in a good spot. The next round of consoles is where MS will feel the sharp teeth of the consumer. If they are pushing Kinect2 and Xbox Live features on the Next Box, instead of things to get their base excited, MS will find themselves in a position they don't want to be in. By then it will be too late. Maybe MS just wants to keep the 360 around for the next few years as a system to sell to the casuals. It does seem as though they are trying to sell it to a different crowd with new subsidized bundle. Maybe they are saving all their games for the next console....maybe. One thing is for sure, MS won't win any battles in the next gen wars on their current path.
MS has been consistently bad at the last 3 E3s. They're seriously running on fumes at this point and what's f***ed up is the fact they they don't have to be. MS has strong relationships with plenty of 3rd party devs and a few of the big time pubs. Why hasn't this translated into exclusive titles for the 360? They also have 2 or 3 more 1st party studios than Sony has, but almost all of them are forced into creating the next Dance title for Kinect. Add that to the amount of money they get from Live and Marketplace purchases....You'd think more serious gamers would be bugged by 3 straight years of unnecessary mediocrity but apparently, only Sony fanboys and multi-console gamers give a damn. Seriously, XBLA is the only positive thing coming from MS these days, unless you count time exclusives and even that's only good for 30 days.
