Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition Review 'Do you know what insanity is?' - GameFan Magazine

GameFan Magazine: "When Minecraft was announced for Xbox 360 Arcade, PC denizens scoffed. Maybe it was the fact that Kinect support would be included, maybe it was the fact that this beloved indie title — that has generated enough revenue to buy most European countries — was making the leap to the living room. Whatever the reason, it doesn’t really matter; the sandbox sensation is here and for those who have waited (like myself) the same magical essence that has captivated so many before is still mostly intact." (Minecraft, Xbox 360) 7.5/10

Yeah ... LOL. I'm going to have to disagree with OP also.

He seems to be one of those people who is so used to games like skyrim that he doesn't realize that the gameplay in minecraft is a lot more deep than just legos.

With all the updates Minecraft has seen on the PC, it is in fact a game. But where it stands at the moment on 360, it's more of a sandbox building simulator. Purely digital entertainment.

Be that as it may, you have taken the line in the article out of context, but oh-well... thanks for the read!

i think with games like Minecraft, Journey, and Dear Esther, a word like "game" ceases to be relevant. not that they're any better or worse than games, mind you, but they don't really fit the traditional definition of a game.

for example, Minecraft is more of a creative timesink, Journey is an emotional experience, and Dear Esther is an interactive visual narrative. those fit them better than calling them a "game" imo, but it ultimately doesn't matter. they are what they are, and they're worth experiencing. lol.

Minecraft (unless your on creative) just doesn't throw materials at you.

You have to build up, starting with wood, then stone, etc. Almost like an RPG.

Do you know what insanity is?!!
Yeah, i know what insanity is.
Insanity is working for 50 hours a week for 50 years, at the end of which they tell you to piss off. Ending up in some retirement village, hoping to die rather than suffering the indignity of not making it to the toilet on time. Wouldn't you consider that to be insane?.
