@Danniel1 If a game's last act carried that much rating weight, then Mass Effect 3 would be one of the the lowest rated games of all time instead of a 93% avg.
This gen's Hawk games are always about the MP anyways.
To buy or not to buy that is the question , seems like this game would benefit from investing in a blue tooth headset while I'm at it , being tactical and all.
This looks like a beautiful game. I am a pretty big RTS fan, but not too big on shooters anymore. This game pretty much combines them and turns it into a fresh unique experience.
It reminds me of a much better version of this game called The Outfit that I played back in the early days of the 360. That was one of my favorite games back then (online portion) so I am sure I will have fun with this game now.
I hope this game is supported by the PS3 gamers. Do NOT let this game fail, or risks like this wont be taken again. These are the types of games that should be dominating the industry on all platforms, instead of the typical military shooters of today.
Sony Will Always Take Risks; It's Their Style Sony takes risks even if a game fails to sell like crazy. They won't stop taking risks. That's just their style. See: Heavy Rain, LittleBigPlanet, The Last Guardian, etc. etc. etc. Tons of high profile, niche, AAA games in their portfolio, past and present.
Starhawk looks to be no different. It looks amazing, just like Warhawk.
will get it tomorrow evening a very under rated game please support this, if its an improvement on warhawk than we have 100s of hrs of gameplay and fun
we know sony won't advertise so let your friends know and let's get a strong community going
I'm buying this game first day and not because of reviews but because of the proper beta I played of the game . It's nice its getting good reviews which may entice the sheep who relies on them. I would like this game to perform well salewise to ensure a ps4 sequel
I loved the beta and was planning on buying it, but I just pre-ordered it yesterday because I forgot it was coming out so early. It feels like I don't have to wait for it, it's a nice feeling :D
I did disagree and have a cause for it: --------- "It's nice its getting good reviews which may entice the sheep who relies on them.I would like this game to perform well salewise to ensure a ps4 sequel" --------- That part of your comment just doesn't add up. You do want volumes in sales, but because anyone not in the beta and those whom has to rely on and buy it from reviews, are sheeps? You just make some people feel dumb. *hoh-hum*
You are not contributing for a game to sell well and still you want it to. Some times it is just the best to leave some of your thoughts out of the comment. --------
The game looks fantastic and had I had any skill in combat or strategy at all, I'd be allover it. I have warhawk and can confess to that. It seems so fast, my internal logic will go banana. :)
Play.com has the limited edition up for preorder. It doesn't say limited but if you check at the bonus content they give you, it's the same stuff as what's in the American LE.
And why not? Warhawk has a massive following. A large number of the fans of Warhawk are very interested in buying Starhawk, so why wouldn't the sequel have a limited edition?
Edit: also, people should read portugamer's "Off-topic" comment. Very good comment.
Held Twisted Metal due to the online issues.. However, this game actually peaked my interest to high especially for the multiplayer mode. Looks like I'll be shelling out my poor wallet.
The orginal on disk was a mondern war ish feel. The most sci fy weapon were the bonocs but thos where like an air strike. But when dlc came. It got more sci fy- the bio feild. The the recover health . The jet packs. Star dust map. That's when it went sci fy. So technically your both right lol. What's important is that this is STARHAWK not warhawk. So maybe we will get a WARHAWK 2 with that modern feel.
@Bathyj.....There was an interview where JOBE was asked specifically about hovering, and he said no. The reason cited was that LIGHTBOX didn't want the Hawks to become overpowered.
Here's the entire interview if you're interested.....good interview btw.
Kind of disappointed that the single player is pretty weak but i should have guessed that it is there just to get the player ready for the multiplayer. Emmett looked like a cool character but too bad he is just wasted on a poor story.
I played the beta & i enjoyed it alot, so i think that lightbox should have made Starhawk just like Warhawk & kept it multiplayer only.
yeah that is too bad the single player is that short & that mediocre. I wish if devs add a single player to a multiplayer game they at least put some effort into it.
I mostly play single player games & dab a little in the multiplayer so it is sad to hear it is not good at all.
Really upset that the single player sucks. -_- Honestly, that was my deciding factor. I'll wait till a copy comes into my store and buy it used. I just don't really care for multi-player that much.
I'm fussy on multiplayer shooters, in a lot of cases it's the community and longevity that influences my purchase. The fact you still find a game on Warhawk says it all. I'll be getting Starhawk for sure. I always imagined the campaign would be an extended tutorial for multiplayer so that doesn't bother me. I just want to have fun
Good review. The story may suck, yet the SP is good because it explains the mechanics and is meant to prep you for the MP, where the meat is. Good to see the reviewer realises Starhawk was build for the MP and therefore should be judged on that. And imo he's right about this game being probably the best online experience on PS3. One of the best of this entire console generation.
Great score for a great game. I loved Warhawk so I will be getting this sometime in the future, but sadly Diablo 3 is gonna keeping me occupied for awhile.
Still, good on 'em, this game deserves all the praise.
No 4 player splitscreen in this game, only 2. LBI said the amount of effort it would take to put it in did not match against the amount of people using it in Warhawk.
Day ONE!!!!
are you trying to convince yourself?

Rated E For Everyone

This game showed great potential the first time I saw it.

I mean is it really that hard to give us a limited edition. <sigh>

cant wait!
I'm not to big on space shooters... But will give it a Try.. Looks Fun.. Beta wasn't bad
*obvious sarcasm*

Just hope DLC map packs don't split the community like they did in Warhawk.

Bring on the disagrees! :D
