On April 27th, the Rayman Legends video was leaked out to the world. Aside from the surprise that the critically acclaimed but sales anemic Rayman Origins had spurned a sequel was the much talked about footage of WiiU play that was featured prominently. In the video (below) players scan in a heart and a Rabbid into the game using the WiiU tablet in much the same manner a character is ‘ported’ into a game in Skylanders.
Or, it would be cool if they implemented some sort of card that you can build up points for when you purchase games at a Best Buy or whatever. Then, when you want to buy a game/DLC on their online store, you can use those points to get a discount by touching the card to the controller. Kinda like frequent-flyer programs that airliners do.
There could be a lot more implementations then just using toys...
the swiping of a card to get DLC is a good idea and saves a bit of time.
also with that device Nintendo talked about, the one you carry around and recognizes other units to capture gamer data. maybe when you go in to game stores or local supermarkets you get free DLC or other stuff that you can download to your WiiU.
Though i have no idea if the technology only works with 1 item at a time
Now, we can "cheat" the system just by putting our console set to USA, but still, they don accept our credit cards. So, as you can see, in my country we're really f*ck+d about buying digital content. Now, lets go to a really specific case: Pokemon. We can get the pokemon and items they give via Wifi. But there's no way we can get an event pokemon, just because we dont have a pokemon center, or a gamestop like store here. Now... if that's the case with that, we cant even dream about getting physical limited items to get special content for the WiiU.
So... that's my sad story. So, it's a great idea... but at the same time, I dont like it.
