As much as I enjoyed Dead Island (it was quickly shot down because of bugs that are no longer there), don't you think that GOTY editions of games should only be released for, you know, games that received awards?
Well I played and beat it mainly on PC, and it was perfectly fine there, and it his much smoother than on PS3. I own the PS3 version also, and I really don't have any issues other than the motion blur being way too high.
How fucking arrogant do you have to be to release a GOTY edition for something that never even won or was worthy of the title in the first place. For shame.
This was my biggest disappointment of last year, The trailer made it look as if it would be an emotionally connected game about survival, It was a pretty bad shooter in the end.
Calling it a shooter is ignorance though. If you play the game, you clearly realize right from the start that it's not a shooter in the slightest. It's a first person combat game about survival.
I did play the game, not all the way through though as it bored the hell out of me and I realised the only thing I was enjoying was playing with friends. This game was not about survival, it was just a shooter / hit people with axes game.
I'm surprised they went with "Game of the Year" edition, if anything I thought they would do the same as Fallout:New Vegas and release an "Ultimate Edition" instead, even though they are basically the same thing.
Mindless accurately describes this game. I know the adult thing is to respect others opinion, but sorry if dead island is your game of the year choice. Buddy you really need higher standards and more variety in your gaming catalogue.
Take everything that made the fallouts or borderlands fun, rip it out, add cods infinitely respawning enemies albeit as undead that make even usan bolt look slow.
And a melee weapons system that is hard coded not to exceed maybe 10% durability before it's worthless and have a gun orientated character(why even bother) that doesn't get a gun till many hrs after the game begins and you have dead island.
