Even though Respawn is developing Lost Planet 3, the company's AAA FPS that is rumored to come out next year will be announced at E3, and blow the water out of any Call of Duty game!!! Time for a new challenger!!! CALL OF DUTY WAS SERIOUSLY WOUNDED BY RESPAWN MYSTERY GAME SELLS, BUT THE SOUL STILL BURNS!!! AND BEFORE MODERN WARFARE 4 COMES OUT!!! YOU GET SOUL CAILBUR 6!!!! NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS COMPETE, BUT ME THE NARRATOR FROM SOUL CALIBUR!!!! WOULD LIKE YOU TO HEAR MY GOD LIKE VOICE ONCE MORE, THAT RESONATES THROUGH SOUL CALIBUR!!!! AND MY VOICE IS AS MEMORABLE AS MICHAEL BUFFER(LETS GET READY TO RUMBLE!!!).
Damn my bad lol!!! look at all those disgrees!!! I WAS SERIOUSLY WOUNDED BY 17 DISGREES, BUT MY SOUL STILL BURNS!!!! My bad guys wish I could of edited it. Got Respawn and Spark Unlimited mixed up.
I still don't believe their will be a COD killer cause hell Battlefield 3 couldn't even kill it but it did make a good effort. Anyway, If Respawn can make a smooth 60 frames FPS game than maybe it can compete but as of right now, i don't think anything will slow down COD's momentum.
Activision better be scared. REALLY F**KING SCARED of Respawn. TreyArch has yet to separate themselves from improving COD technically. Let alone create a successful original title to the magnitude of COD.
I have a very relevant question... We all hate MW2 right (thats not the question)??? So why the FUCK do we think the guys behind that can make a better game??? Its as though we hate COD and then completely forget the people associated with it...
Well my only reasoning behind it is that Activision wasn't allowing them to be creative and make new things. You can't always blame the developers for a game not making huge jumps on each sequel. Sometimes the publisher doesn't give you enough room to work with.
Although the other way it could work is they end up making yet another Call of Duty without moving too far. But I'm trying to be optimistic.
The guys at Respawn made MoH famous in its good years then they went over to Activision, created CoD, and basically de-throwned their own game. So ya, Respawn is definitely capable of creating an awesome game...
Also don't forget the CoD didn't really become "bad" until after these guys left.
The guys at Respawn (the actual creators of CoD) didn't want to make MW2. They wanted to move on to a new IP. Activision muscled them into making the game and Infinity Ward was not pleased. That may have translated into a shoddy final product.
On the other hand, Treyarch is Activision's whore. They make whatever game they are told to make across multiple genres with varying degrees of success. They work the licenses they are given: Tony Hawk, Spider-Man, CoD, Bond. They have skill but have never built an IP from the ground up. The most revolutionary thing they have done is CoD Zombies, which is pretty much Left 4 Dead.
When it comes to talent, my trust is with the people who can create IPs not manage someone else's. Believe me, Activision is scared. If not, they would have let Zampella & West walk away clean. Activision is worried Respawn will create the next game changer and leave them holding a dried up CoD.
I hope for Activision's sake that Respawn's game isn't a Sci Fi shooter. Sci Fi shooters allow for a lot more creative freedom for developers to come up with stuff when they don't have to adhere to the confines of modern day weapons/technology. Giving the people who made cod what it is today unrestricted creative freedom to create such a shooter, my hype meter will explode.
How is it a preemptive? Cal of Duty has been releasing games every year and they only went future-sci-fi in order to shake things up because they definitely are running out of steam and ideas. I highly doubt Blops 2 was to fight against Respawn. It's just another sci-fi shooter.
Lol, I just can't looking at that horrible looking tank, it looks like one of those Voltron lion toys from the 80's that where made from plastic and had their feet welded in this screwed up position, just horrible. Next time hire a decent conceptual artist Treyarch.
Respawn isn't making Lost Planet 3, Spark Unlimited (COD: Finest Hour developer) is making LP3.
EDIT: ahhhh Etackett beat me to it

Had the full Infinity Ward team been intact and on good morale with Activision, MW3 would've been far superior to the trash it is now.
COD has every right to be fretted about what Respawn comes up with.
