Black Ops 2 Pre-Orders Top Modern Warfare 3's

Amazon has revealed that day one pre-orders for Call of Duty: Black Ops II are ten times pre-order numbers of the original Black Ops on its first day of availability. In addition, pre-orders are also 30 percent higher than Modern Warfare 3's day one pre-order numbers.

I know you guys might flame me for this. But the campaign actually seems pretty cool. At least how they are describing it. It seems they are REALLY making changes to it. I won't get my hopes too high up though lol.

Call of Duty has continued to not only be the best selling game ever, but it breaks records on its launch date year after year (its own records in fact) and I don't see that changing anytime soon. The game has a huge following and it's what they love, thus they will continue to buy it until they feel they want to move on from the series. Calling this a lie with out reason is just plain dumb. Do you have proof to such claims?

Think about it, more people than ever preorder games (especially since now a days if they feel like they dont want the game, they can just cancel their preorder without any cost to them and if they don't, they acquire the best preorder price and other preorder incentives), so why call this BS without merit?

Taste in games aside, it's weird to me that so many people reserve a game this far from release, especially with as little info as there is so far. I was shocked but happy to hear that my little brother, who plays almost nothing but Call of Duty, has no interest in this one and thought the trailer sucked. That's a first, but I would bet when most of his friends get it he'll cave.

People know it's going to more of what they like and now a days, preordering a game early is the best option, because if they decide they dont want it, they can cancel it without any cost to them, or if they dont cancel it, they get the best preorder price and incentives, so I don't see the reason not to preorder now.

This series has been so terrible for the industry it isn't even funny. I'll have disagrees i'm sure, but it is 100% the truth.

Lack of innovation in graphics, check.
Lack of innovation in gameplay, check.
Lack of true content via DLC, check.

The list goes on and on, they find more ways to milk people for money, and new innovative shooters get left in the dark.

The only thing you can really justify is the graphics which HAVE remained the same since 2007.

Innovation in gameplay? It's a sequel, what do you want it to do, become a cooking sim?

Lack of content via DLC? They've added Map Packs and Spec Ops Missions, that's "True Content"...what do you want a whole nother game? well I'm sorry you'll have to wait for the sequel for that....

Punishing a series for being successful is like punishing a racehorse for winning...it doesn't really make sense now does it?

And I dont understand what people say about the graphics not changing. Go back and play CoD4. The graphics are far superior in Modern Warfare 3.

The graphics have not remained the same since 2007. COD4 looks horribly dated. Black Ops 2 will use the IW5 Engine, which is considerable newer than the original engine that they used for the first MW game. I remember the M-16 looks like a giant hot dog.

The game has actually done a lot to change with each iteration. Guns, perks, game modes, killstreaks,Spec Ops, host migration, equipment and the ability to duel wield are all things that have been added from one to the other. Kill Confirmed is probably my favorite game mode in MW3, which is new. The original BO game introduced us to a lot of really fun game modes like One In The Chamber.

People like to copy what others are saying about Call Of Duty games on these types of forums, its ignorant to do so without actually playing or recognizing the changes.

To be fair, COD games are on the same development cycle as Medal Of Honor, Battlefield, Uncharted and a ton of other games.

We won't know whether they improved the gameplay or whether the dlc will be any good for quite a while. You may be right but let's wait till we see some gameplay before we criticize it. It probably is the same old same old, but one can always hope...

I pre-ordered Black Ops 2, but I also have Halo 4, Assassins Creed 3 and a couple other games reserved.
Call Of Duty is a social phenomenon, people just need to get over all the hate and let people play what they want.

All the complaining people do at places like this wont affect the outcome or the games sales. The majority of people who buy and play COD games don't come to places like this, so the only ones that see all these rants are people that support a wide array of games and genres.

I got mw3 for $39.99 the day after Christmas. That's one of the best days to buy games, almost all the new games are on sale. Shouldn't be any different this year either.
