Kotaku-Ghost Recon: Future Soldier’s Call of Duty Impersonation Is Pretty Good

If this month's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier was a toddler and not a video game, I'd pat it on the head and compliment its Call of Duty costume.

It's doing a good job of dressing like its more popular playground rival, but—wouldn't you know it?—its own personality still sneaks through. (PC, PS3, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, Wii U, Xbox 360)

Why did this even get approved? The funny thing is Ghost Recon: Future Soldier was in production for over twice the production cycle of Black Ops 2. Not hating, but it's stupid when the author tries to say that its an impersonation when clearly it's not.

He isn't directly comparing it to Black Ops 2, just Call of Duty in general "But Future Soldier's missions are frequently filled with heavy amounts of gunfire, special weapons strikes, large explosions and lots of other big spectacle funneled into a mostly linear path. That's very Call of Duty and enough to make any reasonable Ghost Recon fan worry that the newest game in the series is abandoning what made Ghost Recon special.

This isn't old-school Ghost Recon, but it's also not CoD."

I guess you didn't bother to read the article, just the headline.

Thought and still don't think it's worth the read. Can't blame them for trying to pick up a few things that will help them sell the game. nevertheless, every game takes cues from other games in the same genre, it's good business. I understand what the hardcore fans are tying to say, but I think it's still will be a good co-op experience...just make sure you have friends. :)

lol third person game being compared to FPS, nothing new. Funny thing is Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter released way before Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare.

Kotaku really have gone to sh*t.

This is so far from an 'impersonation' I've ever seen, in fact maybe it's because both games have guns?.. yeah must be that.

I don't even want to get started on a rant because i'll state the obvious like 'they're not a like'.

Anyways, screw Kotaku.
