Dragon's Dogma Is The New Dragon Age II - Preview [NoobFeed]

Daav from NoobFeed.com grabs hold of the anticipated Dragon's Dogma demo and gives it a whirl. It's a shame that a game brimming with such potential and one that presents a selection of excellent elements doesn't necessarily work with it. What could be linked to a classic like Demon's Souls now remains more of a shallow button masher experience. Here's hoping the full game taps a lot more of the great promise seen within.

Try the demo and fight the Griffin.

If you wait long enough, day turns to night and you can barely see anything in the pitch black.

Is this a preview of the Demo or the full game?? Has the author played the full game?

Oh never mind, just read the article description haha. Yeah article is invalid. Wait till you play the full game to decide if's it's Dragon Age 2

This is not a preview, it is a Demo review

With the demo alone it's already proven to be quite unlikely . The author might wanna realize and take note that the encounters of the demo were made far easier than in the full game . For starters you're equipped with gear you wont have at that point .

And even if it were true (wich it absolutely aint) , you would at least have the option to do more than mashing , unlike DA2 .

I guess Noobfeed means news fed to you by noobs...? A small amount of research would have helped this writer to have a more educated opinion on the game. This demo is old, and features leveled up characters. The creatures don't scale with the player like they do in Skyrim, so eventually those larger monsters aren't that much of a problem. The animations do glitch in the demo sometimes, but they're still better than Skyrim's animations. I can't wait for this game. I'm so into it that I've watched the two Capcom-Unity streams, which are each about two hours long, three times in the last few days. This morning I watched them for the third time and took notes so I could skip to certain parts when I want to see them again. I haven't been this excited about a game in a long long time.

Well that's what happens when a clown with no insider access pick up a public demo and pretend he's writing a preview .

j-blaze2054d ago

well said sir!

me too, i'm so freaking excited for this game!

A demo isn't up to par with a game in development?

Then why not extend that to every preview build/debug/alpha/beta/non-gol d previews? None of those represent the final product. I'm pretty sure demos are a way for games to show a representative piece of the actual pie to people. That's why it stands short for demonstration, no?

And yes, I'm also enthused and can't wait to see the final result. I'm pretty sure the article is very clear about that. If not, then accept my apologies with the notion right here that I do strongly and optimistically anticipate this game's release.

MysticStrummer2053d ago

Not all demos are created equal. Some are based on code that is very close to the final game, but this particular demo is the same thing people played at E3 last year.

Baka-akaB2054d ago (Edited 2054d ago )

The issue is your title , wich i dont believe to be an accident , as it's too often done around here . Nor is the utterly random pairing of another vastly different game .

Heck you already know it' so out there and random , you didnt even mention Dragon Age once , outside of the bait title .

You can't pretend to be doing a preview based on a demo, and in this instance , people with actual true preview of the game got a more advanced build that would quality as a preview , and testing more than two random quests .

ill wait and see, but I dont have high hopes for a capcom game. I wasnt impressed from what Ive seen so far, but lets see. But i dont get the dark souls/ demons souls comparisons... its nothing like those games at all. from what i see they are going for monster hunter for westerners.

Baka-akaB2054d ago

People love to make pointless comparisons indeed from very little .

I have much more a feel of Capcom's old D&D arcade game , mixed with Monster hunter ... than this Skyrim or Dark souls nonsense .

Some atmospheric and loose common themes dont make any of the three titles similar
