"During Nintendo’s Investor presentation yesterday, the company revealed that the 3DS is dominating all platforms globally for 2012. Its data also revealed that Sony’s PS3 is leading so far this year from a home console standpoint.

According to the investor report the PS3 is the number one selling console in Europe currently ahead of the Xbox 360 and Wii. The Xbox 360 is leading in the US while the PS3 is again leading in Japan.

The total global sales for the PS3 put it at an estimated 2.27 million units year-to-date, with the Xbox 360 following behind it with an estimated 1.78 million units. The Nintendo Wii is straggling behind with 1.28 million units. "

so ps3 was 63.8m and now it sold 2.27m
so it's now total 66.67m

xbox was at 65.9m and now it's sold 1.78
so total is 67.68m

so the gap now is 1.01m

You might want to recheck you numbers..

63.8 + 2.27 = 66.07
65.9 + 1.78 = 67.68

PS3 gained +.49..gap would now be 1.61m by those numbers

I was away to say its only may but thats month 5! christ this year has gone by so quickly.

Ps3 is closing the gap a bit and nintendo definatly need that wiiU for a little sales boost even though the 3DS is whooping ass

With the PS3 competing again I think the Wii U can it at the sidelines and just jump in while they are focusedon each other. Seems good to me! The units are selling nicely, Just Dance 3 is selling better on the Wii than MW3 is on the X360. That tells you something.
