1up Review: Mortal Kombat Review: A Near-Flawless Victory

As rife as MK is with its brand of violent humor -- the series itself exists as a satirical take on martial arts tournament films -- the 150 new challenge tower missions take some hilarious jabs at trends found in today's video games and provide fun little twists for each cribbed game mechanic. There's touch screen slicing a la Fruit Ninja, only this time you slice at skulls and severed heads and shake the Vita to avoid dangerous bombs; balance mini-games using the gyro sensor, only now you have to perfectly balance on a plank over a pit while objects are thrown at you from multiple angles.

The story is too old to be commented.
