Breath of Fire II has some admirable traits, though you'll need to dig through some very rough edges to appreciate them.
* Pleasing visual presentation
* Hunting, fishing, and founding a town adds variety to the gameplay
* A lengthy quest for 8 dollars with a satisfying payoff.
* Poor pacing leaves you slogging through mundane tasks for the
majority of that lengthy quest
* Terrible localization
* Strange game mechanics exacerbate the unrefined feel.
