DSOGaming writes: "Let’s face it, 4Chan is a place where most pirates are gathered. This is not to say that 4Chan is worthless or anything. Its fanbase is simply huge, therefore it’s only natural to have a lot of people who pirate games. In the past, we’ve seen in 4Chan users sharing cracks, information about illegal downloads, as well as one hell of leaks and trolling attempts. However, today we witnessed something that put a smile on our faces and proved that there are still users who can appreciate and acknowledge developers such as CD Projekt RED."
Not to mention company size, marketing budget, and whatnot. They also offer different experiences and all that jazz.
Another thinkg you are overlooking is that 1 million sold over GoG and Steam means they are taking home A LOT more than selling 3 million at retail on 360 or ps3. In other words even if the 360 version sells 2 millions, the PC version was more profitable for them. The bottom line will always trump how much each platform sold.

And the Witcher 2 really matters.
This title is ridiculous... Mods for games that are popular and various stuff indies is supported legaly by the huge majority of 4chan users as long as your product is good.
Witcher being a game that delivered on all front is supported by 4chan and there is more games that are in the same situation..
And they are actually quite supportive of a lots of indie/doujins and visual novel games
They're very very Otaku, you forget Hentai/Smut(both manga and video)
I really have to buy TW2.
They basically gave birth to a successful visual novel game : Kawata Shoujo
for example, i'd love to play Battlefield 3, it's itching at me to play it, but i'm not dealing with Origin, period. and on top of that, i can't stand EA. but that doesn't mean that DICE deserves to have something they worked hard on get torrented. i'll either have to miss out on the game, or buy it and DL the hack that lets you play it without Origin.
with that being said, i still often buy games used, which also keeps money out of the pockets of developers and publishers, so i'm not entirely innocent.
Now, if people not holding to their games and deciding to sell it used is hurting the business, that's up to developers and publishers to make games that people will want to hold on to.
I know I have sold a fair share of my old games, but I also hold onto many titles that I'll never sell. These games usually come from devs and publishers that got my sympathy over time, hence I tend to keep an eye at what are they doing and end up buying more of their games. Getting more money is all down to making quality games, really.
EDIT: Grammar nightmare
