Fable Heroes "doesn't in any way shape the future direction of Lionhead"

Xbox Live Arcade beat-'em-up Fable Heroes "doesn't in any way shape the future direction of Lionhead", the game's lead designer has told Eurogamer. In other words, the game arriving next week doesn't necessarily have any bearing on where the series is going. (Fable: Heroes, Lionhead Studios, Xbox 360)

Good to hear because this game look corny as hell and I just don't see how it relates at all to the Fable universe.

Who thought it really did shape it? They have traditionally released a arcade game to coincide with a Fable release. There was the golf Fable game and the Pub Games and now this one.

I remember reading or watching something where they have a day where everyone brings an interesting idea to the table and than they have a certain amount of time to come up with some sort of demo and the best one gets the game so to speak.

I think it looks like Castle Crashers which was amazing, I certainly wouldn't compare it to a full fledged Fable game though, that would just be silly.

Ah, but it does shape the future reputation of the series, which is obviously something they don't care about.

I guess in the same way a character shapes the future of their game if they are Smash Brothers or Sony's new brawler.

I mean, seeing Kratos in a family friendly, different molded form doesn't decrease what you think of God Of War or that series right?

Why should a simple arcade beat'em up that features puppets be any different?

I haven't come across a true Fable fan who was outraged or upset over this little game. Why would they be?

This isn't an RPG or even a full retail game, its just something new and fun looking in the vain of CC.

"lol ps3 fans"

Ask the PS3 fans what they think of me.

You're a legend for putting that the way you did.

This doesnt make me worried about the future of the Fable series (one of my favourite game franchises). This is just a fun offshoot using the already well documented and detailed world of Fable. I personally like seeing different genre's of games in the same universe.
