360 Magazine: Far Cry 3 producer Dan Hay has reassured 360 Magazine that the series’ more irritating nods towards realism are set to disappear.
(Far Cry 3, PS3, Xbox 360)
I should think so, too. Though it makes for an interesting idea on paper, in reality it produced some of the most irritating gameplay of any shooter. That and the stupid guns breaking every five seconds.
i enjoyed all them features. the faulty guns and the malaria. made it more like a survival game. the guns did break too often though. but forced you to use them wisely.
i liked the game as it reminded me of a desert version of S.T.A.L.K.E.R
I loved every facet about Far Cry 2. Malaria, weapon degradation, the whole 9 yards.
All the Bitching about Far Cry 2's re-spawning guard posts is valid, i believe. But The people who complain about the "realistic" game mechanics, like malaria/medicine, healing wounds, weapon degradation, etc... I think those folks just need to go play one of those other simplistic shootes games where all you need to worry about is shooting a horde of enemies. If people think "realism" and an unprecedented level of immersion is a hassle in your game, there are plenty of other options that offer less realism and just plain action.
