Do Hardcore Gamers Even Care About Sports Games Anymore?

Back in the day, just about all gamers played sports games. They were huge. But now, it seems like the hardcore gamers play everything BUT sports games. (Culture)

I care. I'm not a fan of soccer or baseball. I'd be a happy sports gamer if I liked those sports as I'd have fifa and mlb the show to play. Since basketball and Football are my favorite sports I only play NBA2K. Madden is horrid trash. I really really want 2K to be able to make football games again.
