New Super Smash Bros. to focus on Wii U, 3DS connectivity

The "key" ingredient to Nintendo's next Super Smash Bros. games will be the connectivity between Wii U and 3DS versions, its creator has revealed.
Super Smash Bros. director Masahiro Sakurai explained that Nintendo would not keep the fighting series fresh by simply piling in more content.

Hmm it would be interesting to see if Nintendo will be 1-upping(no pun intended) Sony's PSVita/PS3 connectivity and how Sony would implement it even more with the PSVita/PS4.
SSB is the perfect game to do it since it's a system seller that so far the 3DS lacks. Not to mention how it will help the WiiU sell.Great play by ninendo

I'm worried that the 3DS version will hold the Wii U version back if they intend that the 2 versions to be the same and not different. What I mean is potentially less content than Brawl, Character roster, Stages (The amount of stuff going on screen at once) and Graphics just to make the 3DS version on par.

I wouldn't worry too much about that. I think if anything, the 3DS version will have content cut and be billed as a travel version with maybe unique modes for unlockables that can transfer to the Wii U version. The Wii U version will still be a meaty game (hopefully).
