More news from the format war today, and it isn't good for the red camp.
awesome. But I'll just wait for the follow-up news [it's inevitable]
Its over, the Fat lady is singing and dancing, just like what one of the bloggers at engadget said. http://youtube.com/watch?v=...
this is why SONY is the most powerful brand in the world poor MS and TOSHIBA and the deceased 300k HD DVD addons @columbo It sucks to be an XBOT like you. look at the sources AOL,CNN ---all biased US media without concrete knowledge The brand equity is measured in terms of ASSETS well if you go that way SONY>>> MICROSOFT http://finance.yahoo.com/q/... http://finance.yahoo.com/q/... 99B vs 65B It sucks to be an XTARD
Nah, I don't think Sony is the most powerful brand in the world. I would still have to go with Coca-Cola, GE, and Microsoft. http://searchengineland.com... http://money.aol.com/specia... http://www.finfacts.com/ire...
HBO,NEW LINE,WARNERS and now CONSTANTIN all defected in a row FROM HD DVD PARAMOUNTS and UNIVERSAL will do the same in a couple of weeks
yea warner bros really really really changed things everyone wanted to leave but they didnt want to be first out the door. Warner bros took that first step and not even a week later hddvd is falling apart. Rumors and speculations here and there has already broken the confidence a consumer would have in hd-dvd. Universal and paramount are welcome hd-dvd at this point should do the responsible thing and forfeit and sony should welcome them with open arms after they pay wat they owe lol
WE HAVE SOME BIG NEWS COMING IN THE NEXT COUPLE DAYS!

It's over Anakin, I have the higher ground!! - Obi-Wan Kenobi

"Why didn't I pick the BLU pill?" -Cypher *goofy smile* HUHHH.....HUHHH? That's a good one right? .... no? *frown* NOOOOOOOOOOO! *picks up a trash can, throws it at a car* *THUNK* :P BTW: bubbles/agree+ for all of ya'll (5-5.6)
Wouldn't it be just FUNNY if Universal renewed the contract, and somehow things happen and HD-DVD wins at the end? Maybe I'm just drunk from this Apple Juice..
That wouldn't be funny at all. It would be stupid. And yes, it must be the apple juice.
lol, stay away from that apple juice man.
It's funny because the idea is so stupid/outrageous. Come on guys, geta sense of humour and warm up that Apple Juice
Maybe you are just drunk. :-)
Its alright Toshiba, its not your fault, its not your fault.. Now go to sleep.. good...good
Bye Bye HDDVD and I don't see any reason for Universal to renew their contract to HDDVd. LMAO I bet the HDDVD camp is panicking right now looking for more to pay off universal but I don't think Universal will bite this time. Universal will go Blu any day now and soon Paramount and Dreamworks will follow.
Toshiba and MS pay them enough, but they're definitely going to start supporting Blu-ray as well. I wonder if the BDA is undergoing negotiations with Universal, the same way they did with Fox and Warner Bros.
They will get money and increase movie sales by going to Blu-Ray. Its a win win
well just imagine Blu ray seems safe and the big companies in the background are all in on a little secret on making some big money. Right now it looks bad for HD DVD, what if the big whiz's are planning on buying major stock in HD DVD for the low rate it's at knowing that the companies are going to switch all together giving those investors a nice cloud for the next few years reaping in money. but hey wtf
I cant help but laugh.. sorry. Its just so much has gone wrong for Toshiba, Microsoft and most importantly HD DVD in the last week.
Duplicate http://www.n4g.com/industry... And this has nothing to do with TECH its a movie studio's contract time going out, it has nothing to do with the game industry or gaming.
this has a lot to do with the PS3 and it's success. Is that why you're so butthurt. Quit spamming threads and go get yourself a Blu-Ray player.
So basically your saying the PS3 is just a BD player..that just happens to play games. That might win Sony the format war but it doesn't help them when folks do not buy the games.
Please let this war be over within 2 weeks. Pending a certain announcement to come....
"la la la, lee-hee-hee-hee, it's all done, for hd dvd"
by the end of this week.
fastest to end format war ever.
if they renew the contract they are the dumbest studio ever, if anything they should just support both which still would be dumb, they should just go blu-ray then paramount will come then it can finally be over and then toshiba can focus on tvs and stuff
Just be grateful the format war wont last as long as the last one (over 10 years)
"Lalalalalalalaaaa" The "FAT LADY" worming up!
you gotta point, and i hate when people say this has nothing to do with the games industry sorry yeah it do cause the ps3 happens to have blu-ray in it
"And Universal doth knock on the door of the house of Blu-ray to be accepted with outstretched arms into a kingdom of riches" Quote: Wozzer - 19:22 Praise Blu-ray, peace be with Blu.
way toshiba is still holding on to the hd dvd tech you would think they went to the future and saw that in the end hd dvd won the war. come on now that fat lady has sang joined the gym, lost weight and run of with another person hubby.
I didn't think everyone would jump ship like that. Sure the end was in sight but warner/new line/universal, and paramount has a loophole in the contract!?! Sucks for the HD DVD camp. Shots to the balls just keep coming. Glad I went Blu.
universal coming to Blu in theater near you..
-Call of Duty
The way this is written it makes it seem like it's tomorrow. But it's not until the end of Jan. I'm sure money will be thrown at them. Toshiba never really lost out. They make cell processors for the PS3. They also have a hand in making the Wii's too. So I doubt Toshiba got hit as hard as most would think. Once HD DVD goes bye bye...I guess we'll see less and less BOGO's for BD. If they want to see BD sell it for under $20 bucks. Both formats are around $30+- bucks at most places.
Constantin Films are going Blu-ray, HBO, now news about Universal's contract expiry has ended? DAMN! MS and Toshiba are still holding on as tight as possible. If all of this negative news for Toshiba is in "play" (which it is), then maybe they should give the **ck up now! This is history in the making! Sony is just relaxing with opened doors for all to come in and play beyond! Play beyond should be everything Sony lol! Teabag from Prison Break: Get on the train "fish" get on the train he's referring to Scofield. lol Get on the train Paramount and Universal, get on the train! LOL Pack your Bags Toshiba!
Where's that HD-DVD fanboy cdzie I think it was. I'd like to see what he has to say about this. lol
i want heroes season 1 on blu ray
What's up with that article saying Universal is not changing their current plans of support for HD-DVD? Is that a lie? Confused. <_<
Universal going to Blu-ray camp is inevitable.
uhhh, any day now Universal, any day now. we should hear an announcement before the end of the month from them regarding switching to Blu-ray.
