They don't need to reinvent the wheel, they just need to use common sense. Nintendo already has killer cheap hardware so they are fine, but Sony needs to be the Boss that they are and jump into some of that Apple pie. They already have a head start when it comes to hardcore games. They need to release hardware out as often as Apple does. It's like they aren't even trying?!

Sony Ericsson Q3 2011 Results – 22m Xperia phones shipped to date; smartphones now 80% of sales

Sony Ericsson has just reported its third quarter results for 2011. Sales of €1.586bn was up 33% from the prior quarter but down 1% compared to the same period last year. These numbers mask the mix change taking place within the company as it moves away from feature phones to smartphones. CEO Bert Nordberg confirmed that smartphones contributed 80% to total sales during Q3

The company shipped 9.5 million units altogether in Q3 2011

Sony Ericsson has shipped 22 million Android Xperia phones to date. The company once again confirmed that Android is its main focus as it moves into 2012.

if in one sales Quarter Sony is doing this type of shipment #'s

The company shipped 9.5 million units altogether in Q3 2011

i do not see how anyone could say they are not trying..lol

Remember one of the main Sony's pillar's is the mobile section an they want to sell games to as many people as they can. The Playstation Suite is one such way to accomplish this task. Also the Playstation Suite will get 1st party Sony in house development studios that are making games for the Playstation Suite. With the Investment into the mobile handhelds for games the PSVita is not the only game handhelds Sony is supporting.
